  • Well Second day back at work was only slightly less boring.

I went to the gym after work tonight. Trying to get back into shape after christmas and all that eating and drinking. :rotfl:
Could do with losing about 1 and a half stone, which I have put on since the summer. fingers crossed.

Anyway, I managed to have another NSD today, taking my total to 3/10 for jan.

I think tommorow I am going to have a look through my finances as I think I might have some spare money left over that I can put as extra towards my visa bill. :j

    Take care

  • Thanks Bowski,

I have had many false starts over the years, however a couple of years ago I put on a couple of stone and many of my clothes would not fit anymore. That made me realise that enough is enough and I lost two stone and started doing more sport, I play alot of badminton and play for a local team. However, since last summer the weight has been slowly creeping back on. I drink too much wine and beer and eat too many biscuits. So had to start good habits again at the begining of this year.

You can do, it is all about will power.

Good luck and all the best for the new year

  • Hi Folks,

Just managed to pay off an extra £150 on my visa card. This brings the debt free date forward by 2 months from Nov 2015 to Sept 2015. Not much but every little helps. I am hoping that I can pay a bit extra every so often so my debt free date will come down more quickly.

    I have updated my signature.

    Hi folks,

I have had a re-jig of my finances last night. I have decided to have a buffer of £200 in my account to cover any increases in bills or any surprises. I really want to get this debt shifted so any other spare money I get after the £200 buffer, be it from cashback, matched betting or anything, I am going to pay it straight off my debts.

In the past I have always been a little bit apprehensive about using all my spare money to pay off debts, just in case anything went wrong and I had no spare money left. Knowing my luck that would happen.

So by having £200 buffer, I will not have to worry. Fingers crossed.

    Hi Folks,

Well it has been a busy day today.

    I have done the following:-

    1) I have joined the Pay a day debt challenge for Jan.
    2) I have joined the make £5 a day challenge for Jan.
    3) I have managed another NSD taking my total to 5/10 for Jan.
    4) I have managed to make £52.33 today from cashback that finally got deposited into my account.
    5) I then used that £52.33 to pay some extra off my visa.
    6) I also used a further £40 to pay some off my overdraft.
    7) I have modified my signature to include the new challenges and updated the rest.

Phewwww, I think I need a beer. Actually a cuppa as I am trying to cut down on the beer after christmas and eat and drink healthy.

Oh I almost forgot I managed to push myself to the gym tonight as well.
    No rest for the wicked.:j

    Take care

    Morning all,

I actually forget to mention, that I am not counting debt payments against my NSD. i.e. if I make payment off my debts, then that does not go against my NSD. If I did that I would never have a NSD if I am going to try and make a payment a day. :rotfl:

  • Hi Folks,

I borrowed a wattson from work today. It is a piece of kit that monitors your ebergy usage in the house, so you can evaluate and try and cut down. Apparently you have to do it for about four weeks. The first week you do not make any changes, and observe what your energy costs for the year. Then the second week you try and make changes and cut back. Then the final two weeks you can tinker more and try and cut back again. Lots of people in work have used them and they have all managed to save money on there bills. I will keep you all posted on how it goes.

    Take care
