We've just bought the Navman S90i as it was on offer and we've been to several places with it and hasnt let us down yet:j :T

We'd heard bad things of Tom Tom so steered cleared of that, but so far so good with the Navman:money:

I have used the garmin nuvi for over a year and find it very accurate and easy to use. The newer Tom Tom's might have improved but I don't think you can beat a garmin.

I have been using the Tom Tom One XL for about a month and find it pretty good, particilarly if you can put in a post code.

Just back from a couple of days in Kilkenny and it was useful there too, though on one occasion it direced me into an industrial estate, which I ignored.

I haven't found out yet though how to update it for new roads, so any potential purchasers should check this out.

One interesting thing is that the sat nav gives a more accurate read out on the speed you are doing compared to the car speedo. Tom Tom help desk confirmed this. It seems the car speedo is deliberately set to show a slightly higher speed than you are actually doing, around 5 mph, to try and keep you within the speed limit!!!

I also bought this model, and I find it superb, with it's bluetooth hands free, and it's text to speech, it actually both reads the road names and towns, and reads out your text messages that you receive while you are driving.

It uses teleatlas for its maps, and if you look at their site there is 100% coverage in northern ireland, and i have found this to be the case so far.

the camera on the back is handy too, so that you can take a photo on holiday or whatever, and navigate back to that exact point!

it also includes the maps for western europe, and built in traffic updates (not available here!)

Well i went into Tesco & bought the Becker sat nav with european mapping for £54, this has the Navteq maps like the Garmins so i'm hoping it will do my job......
I was very tempted by the Navman s90i, seen it in Dixons site last week at £161.....

No complaints, it works a treat & a real bargain for the price. I've only used it locally but just punch in the postcode or town & street & away you go...
I believe the Navigo on ebuyer is a cracking little sat nav too, worth checking out...
