Walking I definitely can do, with 2 dogs I'm out twice a day, so would love to join in. We try & do a really long one on a Sunday as we have more time. We aim to go onto our local hills which are pretty steep & really work those muscles!

Can I join! Running with my assets(!) may leave me with a horrible injury.
I've just joined the WW thread so I need to get my activity up to work on the weight loss. I managed to walk from the station to the office - 20 minutes walk! Didn't walk back as I left too late and it was dark!
I am going to aim to walk this journey at least six times a week and build it up.

this is such a good idea. I did get fit two years ago and walked up Vesuvius, Stromboli and Etna for charity, not bad for a 'cuddly' 47 year old trucker. But since then I've let it slip!
Taking car for repair ( being paid for by Kwik Fit as they broke it ) so going for an hour along the towpath, trying to avoid the Jolly Boatman ( pub, not some strange mariner, haha).

Think I would be happy to join this one, as I walk to and back from college on most days I am there, and walk to and from allotment on the other days of the week.
Using the google pedometer to college its a 1.316 mile walk, and the walk to the alloment is 0.960miles long. So averaging around 2miles a day.19th March 2007 LBM£5,969.63 1st January 2018 £5960.18, 1st January 2019 £11,032.0018th August 2023 £12,435.00, Student Loan £22244.00 From 2009-12Challenges: To learn to stop spending..0 -

That's a great idea. I'm going to get into geocaching, but have to wait till payday to buy a Garmin
I really need to walk, I used to do a lot but stopped for no good reason. Yup, it's good for you, eases stress and burns calories!

Another one popping over from the running thread to say hello and good luck with all your walking. I've only recently started running again after spending the best part of 4-5 months training for this madness - http://www.walkthewalk.org/Challenges/TheMoonWalkEdinburgh
Would highly recommend it (or one of their shorter challenges) if you enjoy walking and fancy something 'big' to aim for!
Have fun! xDebt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
Hmmm I ought to join in here. I don't do much exercise (not really got any excuse other than lack of time and mild asthma).
In January I started going for 2-3 mile walks in my lunch hour at work (Aldi/Tesco are 1 mile from work so walking back was usually fully laden and a struggle when I overestimated my strength!) ... but seem to be quite lazy recently and keep taking the car every lunch time.
Not really feeling that motivated - although I know the walk makes me feel better having got out of the office etc.
Anyone got any motivational tips for me to actually get off me butt????
Keep meaning to join the local library so may walk down there Sat pm for a look around - but it's only half a mile there so hardly much effortworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0
