Good luck Birdie! I never understand girls who wear heels to gigs unless it's for a bit of height advantage? I used to be OK at standing for long periods of time but my back aches so badly these days at anything like that!

Hope you're feeling a bit more bright-eyed today Cinny. I'm sleepy after staying up til 12.30 messing about with flickr - is it possible to change the order of your pics once you've uploaded them? I can't seem to find how..

Right, coffee time, then ... invoice time! I didn't miss some big deadline with them the other day so that makes the task a lot less daunting now!

Had an awful nights sleep, kept on flushing hot and cold, didn't seem to stay asleep for longer than 30minutes. So Dad made me stay off work, only just woke up!

Glad Mr Morrison didn't get a telling off! You have no choice but to curl up on the sofa and watch a movie tonight to save your feet.

Tete, I don't think you can swap your pictures around after they're uploaded, you can put them into sets though if that helps!

Isn't the site meant to be closed now? Or will I get a telling off from Martin for posting?

Gosh, what a long morning! 4.30 can't come quickly enough; I can barely keep my eyes open and it is very difficult to be helpful and nice when dealing with someone so useless and confused about everything! Multi-tasking is clearly something that has bypassed this woman...

I've just been sent an e-mail from a hotel in Harrogate about their wedding package... it is insanely expensive! The menu is from £35 a head, wine is from £15 a bottle (and the stuff that my Mum would actually drink is £32!), water is £3.50 a bottle and canapes are from £7.50 a head! Is everything made from solid gold?! They don't even have an entertainment license so I couldn't have a cheesy wedding disco... I don't think I'll be pursuing that place!

Just been crunching the numbers and it would cost nearly £1800 for a 'budget' version of a wedding there and I bet we'd only like the pricier options of everything... and the accomodation is £110-£395 a night!

I think I should keep looking!

It's closing tonight at 10pm. I'll have to remember to not look for it this weekend! I may actually get something done tomorrow!

ETA: Sorry you're feeling poorly Cinny! Have a nice restlful day recovering, luckily you made cakes so you can eat them to keep your strength up!

I thought it said 10am! Silly me, I can be excused as I have the sniffles.

Blummin' eck on those prices though! £3.50 for water?! Does it come in gold plated evian bottles? Remind me when I get married to elope to Gretna Green.

Trying to figure out when my ISA will open, the end of the tax year is April the 5th right?

I think so, Martin says it's Sunday and I believe him!

I think I'm going to have to have a good think and scout round for wedding venues, looking at another hotel and they're taking the mickey with prices too! Why do people hear 'wedding' and automatically charge 30% more?! It's mad! I might book a 'birthday party' and just surprise them by turning up in a wedding dress!

Hi girls, phew, not stopped all day, I do not like to spend my Fridays doing work :( But it's the last day of term so everyone's in a panic trying to get things done before their holiday (I deal with teachers), will be nice and quiet next week so I can get caught up.

Sorry to hear you're not feeling well Cin, I hate those nights where you feel like that, you know in the back of your mind it's just a cold but it always feels so awful at the time that I convince myself it's meningitis or something. Then the next day I'm fine but totally exhausted!

What I know of wedding prices Birdie they are absolutely unbelievable! A friend of mine had her reception at Durham Castle a couple of years ago and got the room hire for free so only had to pay the catering because she had it on a Thursday. I think they might have stopped doing that now though. And people resent you for having midweek weddings a bit I think because not only do they have to fork out for a dress and present, they also have to use up their precious annual leave! It's really tempting to go to Gretna Green - you can still wear a posh frock can't you?

Well I went and opened my ISA at last! It'll take a week or so for the money to move across from my old one, then I'll have to check how much difference I need to make up as I'll be charged a penalty for not giving them notice of closing my account. But one month's interest from the old account lost is outweighed by having the money at the new rate of interest for an extra month if you see what I mean. The lady in the bank said I sounded as though I knew what I was talking about and I thought Martin would be proud! Anyhoo, off to look at more hotels while I scoff my scran!

Finally the day is (nearly) over! My tongue hurts from biting it so much!

Well done on getting the ISA sorted Tete! Have you picked an affordable hotel yet?

I've thought about having a mid week wedding but I know that I'd resent having to use a day's holiday to go to a wedding (well, 2 really because you need the day after to recover!) and I don't really want people resenting me for it or not being able to come. I'd maybe think about a Friday if it came to it, we'll just have to see what we choose to do!

Has everyone got nice plans for the weekend? I'm not up to much, meeting OH's best girl friend tomorrow morning then I don't know what we're doing for the rest of the weekend, hopefully something quiet and cheap! I hope the weather stays nice so we can at least go for a walk!

    Evening Girls!

Feeling mucho better, sadly didn't see OH today like planned but it's the grand national tomorrow so he can do without my germs!

Have you found anywhere cheaper yet Birdie? I read of a couple who got their reception place free, the husband to be did some plumbing works around the hotel and I think the Wife did either cleaning or pot washing, could you try something like that? Making your own wedding invites would cut costs too, but I bet you'll already be doing that!

My plans for the weekend is a bike ride into town to drop the Winston Churchill book back at the library, help my mum in the garden then Sudbury Hall with OH on Sunday. Have a nice weekend everyone, see you on the other side *waves arms mystically*

    Hey Ladies

Just got back from Paris, and the forum was closed - was missing my daily 'fix'. How cool Dinah and NIM were able to check in - sounds like they're having a great time.

Poddle - well done on the PPI! How cool, your sig is coming down so quickly. I think it's good to be a close second as you know you're coming across well in interviews and saying all the right things.

Well Paris was really great, the weather was stunning. We went to see the installation that OH worked on in one of the big cathedrals, which was beautiful, and then we went to see his friends performance. On the second day we had a giant picnic in Luxembourg gardens and walked down the river to the Eiffel Tower. Then we went out for special tea in this lovely restaurant, and on the way home in a little square OH proposed. And I said yes. Super nice! Then we spent a lovely loved up day touring all the galleries. So all in all a fantastic trip.

Definitely wouldn't recommend Hotel Sunny, Tete. It's universal hotel peach and pretty scabby, and the pillows were like rocks! I wouldn't have booked somewhere so cheap if I had known OH's plans. Serves him right for leaving me in charge of all the arrangements.
