That's the thing, he doesn't see dirt, just clutter! I'm the one who keeps it clean since he can't see dust etc but because I lift things up to clean under them and put them back on a clean surface he doesn't think I'm doing anything! I'll have to get him taught!
I was disappointed with RND too Cinny, OH and I sat on the sofa with our snacks and drinks prepared for a fab telly night and we felt so let down! He kept looking at me saying 'Am I laughing yet?'. The only thing he found funny was the England team getting shouted at by that fat bloke, James Corden??? and I giggled at French and Saunders but OH didn't get it as he hasn't seen Mamma Mia! I gave £5 though as they made me feel sufficiently guilty but I didn't tell OH as he wouldn't have been impressed!:rolleyes:Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. Even if you can make it to £750 that's a nice round figure and a bit chunk. That's what I'm saying about only making it to £2000 rather than the £2600 I was aiming for. It was a bit unrealistic but if you aim for the moon at least you'll land amongst the stars and all that! I was just telling a colleague about my 30 by 30 list and how it includes all sorts of travel and I wasn't sure whether I'd manage them all, and she just said "Well, to have a plan means we're half way there", which makes me feel good about all my list writing!
Happy 1400 then! My last one was 950 I think, I'll celebrate when I get to 1000!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Trust your intuition Tete, women are generally right about things like this. Tea rather than alcohol sounds good, he might stay clear if he's lacking in dutch courage.
Honestly that'd drive me nuts Birdie, that's not tidying that's hiding! And you'll make more mess and take twice as long to find anything. He also needs to see that it's not 'his stuff and 'your' stuff anymore, and if he wants to tidy he needs to treat everything with the same care and attention, if he shoved bundles of stuff into a wardrobe I swear I'd be spitting blood, probably his.
NIM and I were up until midnight last night wrapping parcels. 14 for Ebay and about 35 for RiSi. We also listed about 150 books, and then found another box full in the shed! So listing those will have to be some time this week/weekend.
Ebay now do free listings on items under 99p, which is good as I can just keep relisting all the remaining tat for free. Sold a book on Amazon this morning too, £7.50 which isn't bad.
NIM is off on his magical mystery tour of the north east today. An hour and a half in and I think he's still at the first shop! Doesn't bode well for getting all 11 done today!
Got our tickets through for Egypt, exciting moment! Unfortunately they have managed to put on the tickets that we have no inflight meals booked, but we paid for them (I eat when I'm nervous!) so we're going to have to call up about that.
Car wouldn't start this morning. Or rather it started, moved about a foot, then cut out and wouldn't start again. Had to get a lift in, praying it heals during today and works tomorrow!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Sorry I'm slow at writing. Yes get him told Birdie! I have to say I've not enjoyed RND for years, we watched Gordon Ramsey on the other side. Are you getting us a DOTD? Or are we having another of Cinny's ... interesting ... suggestions?
*edit* Very slow, this was response to Birdie!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -

Heeeey! My dress was bootiful.
Birdie - Mamma Mia was fantastic - 'Abba songs, with words in between!' My mother was smitten. OH wouldn't of been too impressed with it all, thankfully he was at work so didn't have him moaning at me. I'd rather of spent the evening snuggled up watching Cranford, would of saved me £5 and the guilty feeling.
Shouldn't take you long to get your OH trained, I managed to teach OH in 15 minutes when he was cleaning my room for meWell he makes 75% of the mess! Just put a duster in his hand, he might get the jist.
Yikes, that's alot of wrapping Dinah! No wonder you were up until midnight! Sounds like you'll have lots of lovely books coming you way though. NIM might get a bit faster during the day once he gets into the swing of the MS!0 -
I'll get you a DOTD, I feel bad for not providing one since Thursday!
I will get OH told, I treat all of his stuff with the same respect as my stuff, when I put his clothes away I hang them up in the wardrobe where they belong, not just shoved in at the bottom! He claims that he's just acting how he did in his old flat-shares i.e. with other boys who did the same to him! I think that he's finding it harder to adjust as he's lived in grotty lad-pads with boys for years and can't get used to sharing a home with a girl.
I hope your car's OK Dinah! And that NIM gets his magical mystery tour completed today, it must feel a bit Crystal Maze-y having so many places to visit in one day!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. Morning all!
Tete, I think you have to trust your instincts about the ex - I had the exact same thing a few months ago! Me an my ex split in 2003 and have stayed in touch a little as we have mutual friends from uni. He went travelling last year ('to find himself') and when he got back in November he started emailing me and phoning me about meeting up. I was a bit suspicious, but I think my friends just thought I was being really arrogant lol. Anyway, eventually he revealed that he'd been thinking about "us" a lot while he was away and he thought we should give it another go and what did I think... It's nuts!!
So I'd say just do what you feel...
Don't worry about your OH, Birdie, you'll get him taughtTBH I'm quite a messy person (but not dirty!) and I probably drive OH a bit mad as he's a methodical engineer-type. It took a couple of months to get into a pattern that we were both happy with. I used to live with a really good friend and she was a bit OCD - she didn't like 'stuff' being out, so she'd put the magazines from the coffee table away in a drawer in the kitchen (?!) and make sure all her washing up was stacked up neatly by the sink - that drove me crazy! Why would she make the effort to tidy it up instead of just doing the washing up?!
Sorry for the rant! I guess I'm not over it yet...
Hope everyone is okay, despite it being Monday! And hope your car is okay by tonight, Dinah! Has it been cold up there? Or is just one of those spontaneous problems that cars have?LBM Sep 2008 debt: £27,927.04start weight: 140.2, week 2: 1380 -
DOTD! It's Bling-tastic!
Oh dear Poddle, it sounds like your friend and my OH would get along! Yesterday, to prove a point that he can leave 'stuff' lying around, OH left his shoes on the floor. They were placed at an exact 90 degree angle to the kitchen floor (which is lino) on the carpet, equally spaced between the kitchen floor, the sofa and dining room table. It was the most perfect example of clutter I've ever seen! :rotfl:Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Your dresses are getting bigger and bigger! I quite like this one though, maybe without the shiney bits!
My stomach is growling! Keep on thinking about the tuna pasta salad I have in the fridge *sighs* only 40 minutes and I can stuff myself silly. Thinking of lowering my target to £800, then aim for £1000 by the end of April. Sadly most of my savings are pinned down for things already, £350 for OHs laptop (bought on my Mums argos CC, her idea as she said it's better earning me interest at the moment) then £100 for the caravan. Trying not to think of that though!0 -
That's a nice big floaty skirt again Birdie! Not sure about the bling though (I'm going to end up in such a boring wedding dress I can see it now!)
Poddle, my OH used to be an engineer - maybe that's why he's so anal with his tidiness! He was going mad at me for putting my bag and shoes on his bedroom floor again at the weekend  I really don't see his problem! I put them as tidily as I can, and they go when I go anyway, it's not like I leave a trail of destruction behind me!
Thanks for the advice/words of warning re. ex girlies. Have sent him a message making it clear that I'm only replying now because I've been so busy and 'forgot' to text back (ie, you're low on my priorities), and said I'm busy in the evening and can only do Friday afternoon. I only ever suggested the afternoon and he assumed the evening so I don't feel too bad. Just a matter of keeping him at arm's length now emotionallyWeightloss: 14.5/65lb0
