I consider a holiday an essential spend, as do all of us on here I think!! And the fact that you've saved for it and have the money there, separate, for it is a good thing ... you're not just adding it to the OD or cards. When do you go? And whereabouts?Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0

Pilchard - I regret to say Sh*tface will be taken over by the cupcake again tomorrow! I could use a picture of an apple or something healthy instead though? Yikes, 3 weddings! I have never been to a wedding in all my life, miffed as I used to go to church every sunday and lived in the old vicars house, not a single wedding, ever!
No worries. I think I've turned the tide for this diet malarkey. I went jogging for the second time this week (I use the term 'jogging' loosely you understand) and went shopping and wasn't even tempted to buy cakes or chocolate in the supermarket.......and we have 11 Easter Eggs upstairs that I've not been tempted to touch :A
As for the weddings, well I'm in my 40's and these are friends so they're all 2nd time around ones - wrinkley weddings (don't tell them I said that!) :rotfl: so, hopefully I can just give them gift vouchers as a present. The only problem is I need to get 2 outfits cos the same people are going to be at 2 of the weddings.
Anyway, off to do some housework now but hope you all have a good day xxLet's start again (really need a kick up the bum now) :wall:Virgin CC £9793.710 -

Just hope can build up the savings again, cos holiday costing more than I thought due to the rubbish dollar rate - I remember when you used to get over $2 to the £ - gone are the days!
Only 21 weeks and 4 days to go (i.e. Aug), not that I'm counting! Not too bad as booked almost a year ago. We're going to Toronto/Niagara for a week then my sis's in Ottawa for two weeks. Hoping for a proposal at Niagara but more chance of getting pushed over0 -
Hi Swinstie! Canada sounds lovely, and holidays are always worth it. You need something to look forward too while tackling debt you hear some of people saying 'i haven't been on holiday for 52 years' which is good on them but I couldn't do that myself! Like Tete, I'm not in debt either, just happily watching my savings go up! Welcome to the thread.
Tete - has been quiet today hasn't it?! Its spooky, not even a nice dress to look at. I hope I don't have to get a stand in again I don't think I can top a tampon dress!
I was very good when I went out today, instead of getting my spends money as 'cash back' in asda I got my money out first (clever, i know!) and gave myself a budget, so I only got some new jammies and cat food - the latter not for me... sadly.0 -
Please tell me the jim jams were for the cat though...!!!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0

Morning all. Sorry I haven't been on mych, very busy few days. Savings target has gone up by £20, payment from a couple of MSs.
Went out last night to Newcastle to see my newly single friend, and she has asked me to go on one of these 'i have a single friend and i'm playing matchmaker' websites. Now, I've found a site that looks active and interesting, however, how am I supposed to know which of these guys are actually looking for a date and which just want a quick fumble with a woman low in confidence and needing some support?! Last night was car crash in terms of chat up lines ("what do you think of structural aid?") but she was looking great, NIM even said if he were single she'd have caught his eye and he'd have been glad to talk to her.
So far I've ruled out any men whose profile photos are in a pub, or who have listed 'pub lover' or 'club addict' in their profile....Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Good move to avoid the pub profile pictures, Dinah. And how sweet of you to take on the matchmaking for your friend.0 -
Oh that wasn't a guy, that was her! We heard her use it with 4 different men! It's not so much sweet on my part as just loving to be involved in everything and feeling the need to save her from herself! Plus poor lass would make the right guy a great girlfriend given the chance.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Morning all. Spent yesterday in bed shivering unable to get warm, feeling okay again today. Dad had this wierd 24 hour flu thing at the start of the week too. Been listing some more books on RiSi this morning (need to get loads of swaps in so can post them tomorrow on NIMs MS tour!), have a MS sunday lunch at a pub about 15mins away shortly, it's a pub I never would have set foot in a year ago, but it's so cheap and the foods nice that I'm prepared to overlook the screaming and crying minions on this occasion.
This time in two weeks we'll be on the plane to Egypt! Very exciting. Still need to get a camera, sunglasses, sun cream/wet wipes etc, but I have the most important part (the book list to read while there) all sorted and ready!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
