Ooh, I have a money-related thing too! I dug out the paperwork for the Egg loan I have, and it turns out I'm paying that devious payment protection scam. I didn't know I had it, and ironically it doesn't actually cover me for redundancy, just sickness and death. But anyway, it has cost me a whopping...(drumroll please)... £1,198.16! PLUS another £300 interest!
If I can claim that back, I will be a VERY happy lady (and it should ease the pain of not being allowed a chocolate chip cookie - just!) yay!
:T
Ooh you might be able to help me!! What us PPI? I have seen it mentioned, but is it just insurance that you pay on your CC?
OH and i have a CC with HSBC and i have always noticed and insurance premium added every month along with interest but have never really known what it is. OH swears he has no recolection of ever agreeing to it and as he opened the card i have no idea!
Do we not need to be paying it?Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -
is there any chance I can have a get out clause from my no-chocolate lent?!
I gave up lent the sunday after it started - in a rush in Sheffield and grabbed a happy meal for my dinner (free toy!) - I have no will power.
Just have the smallest one, you do need to test them, make sure they are okay to sell to the public. *nods* Good luck with reclaiming though.
I'm off to re-write a page in my notepad that i scribbled over lunch otherwise I won't be able to read it once the thoughts have gone.0 -

Hi Flower, have a read through Martin's advice, but it sounds like you'd have a good case for claiming it back:T

There's loads of good advice on the PPI forum along with reassuring success stories about people who have claimed back thousands!
Worrying how I was so much more excited about the cookies than the money - oops! Thanks for the free pass, Cinny - so wise beyond your years:rotfl:LBM Sep 2008 debt: £27,927.04start weight: 140.2, week 2: 1380 -

Thanks for the artbox link. Can I justify 9 quid for a dotty mug?
Yes, I reckon cadge is about the same as snaffle, except snaffle seems bit sneakier somehow. Does anyone like the word 'mosey'?
Of course all baked goods have to be tasted first. Unfortunately I made some cookie dough a few hours ago and am going to have to chuck it out as it's got eggs in and I left it in a warm room. Doh!0 -
Hello there
I will look at my debts later and put them in my signature
Tete, well done on the crown. Hope I'm lucky enough to get one in the future.
Cinny, I like your new avatar and so does my waistline. The cake kept making me hungry but I'm being good now. I've got 3 weddings to go to this year and my nephew's passing out parade in 6 weeks. I don't want to look bigger than the tanks in the barracks so need to take serious action!!
Not sure about today's DOTD Birdie, but there again, being as you might say 'breastically challenged' it would fall off anyway :rotfl:
Right, off to face the credit cards, back soon xxLet's start again (really need a kick up the bum now) :wall:Virgin CC £9793.710 -

Good luck with the total-making and PPI reclaiming guys, you seem to have been having a dynamic day today.
Nice to meet you snow white. Justify £9 on a mug? My question would be what does it do better than a 50p mug from Morrisons/Ikea? (Okay not ikea, that place just sucks the money out of your pockets with 'bargains' you just can't live without!
We went out today to do NIMs MS, and to go to the 3 banks. We made it to two, Barclays wouldn't let NIM open a savings account as he didn't have a bill from his Irish address that was suitable (took his mobile broadband bill). So we've opened one regular saver in my name, and going to do the other one in his on Tuesday. Because of the lack of ID thing, we didn't go to open the joint account. We did go to Lloyds though and pay off CC3 that mum had used, and effectively added the money she owes me onto CC2, which is being paid off using NIMs rent money at a rate of £60 per week. Also closed down the £6 per month account and changed NIM to a normal one, as this was the only one they would let him have when he first moved over with no proof of address.
I'd skin NIM alive if I caught him using those cash machines! That said I nearly had a stroke today when he spent £5.20 on a mothers day card. Apparently she'd be angry if he got a 'cheap card'..... words fail me tbh!
Came in this evening, all excited and ready to paint - and fell straight to sleep! Going to go to NIMs Dooyoo and mine now and cashout all the amazon vouchers we have so we can get a camera for Egypt!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Hello stranger, sounds like you've been busy, I've completely lost track of what you're doing with your finances ATM, you seem to be juggling mone all over the place! I came home tonight with a to do list as long as my, well not my arm really, maybe my index finger, I've half done 2 things off it then got distracted looking at Paris stuff (again, I know you must all be sick of me banging on about it). I've been searching about all night and found various deals/codes/quidco which would get us 4 nights in a gorgeous looking hotel and Eurostar from Durham for £285 ... pretty good going seeing as I don't even want to go on the bloody train, but I'm compromising, but OH has to wait til Monday when his boss is back in to see if he get get the holiday dates! So of course I'm worried the deals will be gone by then and all he's doing is telling me I'm a harridan and to stop nagging! Grr Grr Grr!!!
And breathe. I'm going for a hot choccy! Night all xxxWeightloss: 14.5/65lb0
