Morning everyone! Happy Pancake day! (is that a saying?)

It is now! Happy Pancake Day! :j

I should really get back to giving blood, I haven't donated for ages! I get fed up though because I go straight after work and don't get chance to eat before going in and then they're so ill prepared that I've got to wait an hour to donate despite making an appointment, by the time I drive home I feel awful because I haven't eaten and they've taken an armful of the red stuff! I think I'll move to the Ripon donation centre thingy and see if they're any better!

I was thinking about starting to give blood, is it painful?!

Is anyone giving anything up for Lent? I considered my cream crackers but I wouldn't last long.

Picked my ISA account! ING Direct (mainly because I like the adverts) Need to be over 18 so I'm going to apply after my birthday, and hopefully have it up and running for the new tax year.

You're not supposed to fall for marketing! Although I do every time...

Giving blood isn't awful, but it's hardly like having puppies lick it out! If you get a good nurse it's OK; a bad one can make it a little more uncomfortable. The worse part is having to keep moving your hand the whole time and it can sometimes make the needle wiggle in your arm that hurts a bit. But don't let me put you off! I've been donating since I was 18 and wear my bruises with pride! (I bruise like a peach so I end up black and blue!)

For Lent I'm giving up... erm... shoe shopping? 40 days.... I can manage that! I hope!

  • Happy pancake day girls! How do you eat yours? It'll be nutella and maple syrup for me I think :)

Feeling grand thank you, my arm's a bit sore though. It doesn't hurt Cinny - they can give you a local anaesthetic (I have no idea how you spell that!) and then you can't feel a thing. Only takes about 10 minutes to drain you. And it's a free cuppa and a biscuit after! I was glad I could do it actually because I quite often fail the iron test beforehand, but I was ok. And I even got my bronze award for donating 10 times! A little pin badge and a certificate :) I'm always pleasantly surprised how many people are at the sessions actually, makes me feel al warm inside and at one with the human race! Birdie I often go to the Centre near where I work and book in for about lunchtime or 4pmish, then if it takes ages it's only work you're missing and not your own time in front of Corrie!

Speaking of work, another busy one :( See you later! x

*edit* I fancy giving something up for Lent, even though I'm not religious, but I don't know what. Something that I have often enough so that it would be a challenge, but not something I'll give up on after half a day. Hmm....

Salt or Tomato sauce on mine! Nomnomnom

I really want to give something proper up too but I can't think of anything. I could cut out all junk food and 'treat' foods. Just have my set meals, glasses of water and fruit for snacks. Now that would be a challenge!

I wish I had a busy day at work, all the paperwork is sorted so I'm just waiting for the post now... and eating crackers.

I know I shouldn't get taken in by adverts Birdie, but they're just so happy. Plus it's one of the better deals I've found 0.7% more than Abbey anyways!
  • SALT?!?! Bleurgh!

I'm thinking either bread or pasta or tea and coffee - only allowing myself fruit teas... I'm tempted by bread to see if I feel any different for not eating it, everybody always says so...

giving up bread?! are you crazy?! It's all nice and light and fluffy and sometimes toasty!

Everyone I know has sweet pancakes, I don't know of many people who have salt or Tomato sauce on theirs

I went gluetin free for nearly 3 years Tete, I had loads more energy, and I was a right skinny minny to boot. I've never given anything up for lent, don't know what I would give up tbh. Maybe alcohol? I don't want to give up meat or bread or anything since I'm going to Egypt. But it's not giving up if it's not a challenge.

Hope poor Birdie gets to move house today!

We're on wedding/proposals (of the non uni kind!) hiatus here now girlies. I've hit my limit and last night had a major freak out. NIM has agreed never to mention it again, and if he does I will be saying no, so not to waste his time!

So stuffed up today - blaming NIM.

On the plus side - I'm back in a pair of work trousers I haven't fit into for about 6 months!

Oh, and hugely with Tete on the bleurgh to salt!

Oh dear, Hope you're okay! At least you're being straight with him.
Well done on fitting into your work trousers! You must be feeling so much better with all the exercise ect.

Found this place called Camelot Europe - they rent out rooms vacant properties like schools and you act as guardian to stop the place being hit by vandalism or squatters. You get amazing massive rooms for stupidly small amounts of rent. *sighs* I've found a new website to watch now!

Sounds like an interesting project Cinny. Not sure I would feel comfortable in there with god knows who else though.

Feeling a lot healthier aye, just wish I got more time at home to read as well. Considering trying to read on the cross trainer - there was a girl in there last night with a magazine, so must be possible.

I'm okay, just he's been hinting very heavily recently, then I made a comment and he was just completely flippant 'oh, i thought you realied that I didn't mean anytime soon'. He knows I'm scared of this, and making me feel like a stupid dizzy girl is not the way to push me. So I've decided to call time on that side of things, I'm not keen on it anyway, and this way I can relax and enjoy things just as they are, knowing there is no scary 'more' around the corner.
