Well it was meant to be showing you all the types of clothes the 'dandys' used to wear. But it ended up with Mr Darcy getting down to his undercrackers. He looked very much like the one from Lost in Austen, I had to contain myself with OH being there.

That must have taken all of your efforts! I don't think I'd have managed!

Wedding dress time, since Dinah's not here to tell me off for it! ;)

Thought I'd find something with a bit of a fuller skirt today, still looking for the ultimate huge skirt so this'll have to do for now!

I think this one's more of an England Wedding Dress, the first one's more of a Holiday Wedding Dress! Not sure why, maybe because it is so white and will look better with a tan (I'm so pale, when I tan I look 'normal'!)

What would you have done if OH hadn't been there?!?!

That's a lovely dress Birdie but I'm with CMD, I loved the first. I love the way they all seem to have gathering detail on them at the minute, I imagine it hides a multitude of sins (enabling you to pig out as much as you like at the reception!) I feel your pain re. paleness. I don't even tan - I freckle!

Well I almost went for the same frames again, but then I found a square-ish plastic green pair which I was quite taken with so I got them. I'd forgotten how much I hate trying glasses on, thay all make me look like I'm doing a science experiment. I have the kind of face that makes expensive designer glasses look like safety goggles :o And one ear higher than the other apparently, cheeky assistant! Came to £120 altogether, and that's apparently with a free eye test and half price glasses because I'm on their contact lens by post scheme. The frames were £150 so that must mean lenses are about £90, although I did have a couple of coatings put on, and they are Givenchy. Anyway, she let me pay a 50% deposit, and the rest next week when I pick them up :)

I definitely think I'll be going for a gathered detail dress to cover my post reception belly! I also like the idea of a big skirt to hide my hips (my least favourite part) so as lovely as the first dress is I don't know if it will work for me. I'll have to try it on, or one like it to get an idea

ETA: Just had another look and I'm being silly, I thought it was a more fitted skirt but it's plenty big for my giganto hips! Whoop!

Good deal with the glasses! I've got wonky ears too, it's always a pain trying to get glasses to look straight on my face! I've been thinking about getting green glasses, the ones I've got are purple, and the ones before that so I think it's time for a change!

  • My previous ones were brown, I need warm colours, can't be doing black. There were some nice greys but I can't have them either. I was surprised to like the green to be honest.

I'd have same problem with the hips, but anyway, what other day of your life are you going to get to swish about in a massive dress? :D When my best friend got married I had to help her in and out of her skirt when she wanted the loo!

LOL! Good point, I want a huuuuge dress so I can spin in circles and knock people out of the way with the force of my skirt alone! But if I have a huge dress how can I do the funky chicken without falling over? Oooh, I'll never be able to decide!
