  • Morning all, hope everyone's well today! I'm only in til lunchtime today then off tomorrow to 'do' Helvellyn  and apparently it's gonna snow  so I'm off to see if I can get myself some long johns later    Looking forward to it though :D

Can't believe you'll be sub-4k Dinah, I wish I could put the same efforts into saving as you do into debt-busting, but, call me materialistic, I just love all my lovely stuff, couldn't bear to part with it!!

Off to do that credit report thing for £7 on Quidco that was in Martin's email. I read on here a while ago about someone who'd paid off all her debts then applied for a mortgage and got turned down because of £2 or something owed on a catalogue from donkey's years ago. A while back I ordered a Next Directory because you got points on Pigsback, then was billed about £3.95 for it, but just put that in the bin :o. I never heard any more about it so I really hope I haven't got a big black mark against my name!

Oooh, hope you have fun tomorrow!! Inspired me to drag OH up Mam Tor on sunday, alright it's no Helvellyn but it's still got rocks n stuff. Don't forget your hat.

I'll be so chuffed for you when you get under £4000 Dinah! You've put so much effort into debt busting (like Tete, I wish I could do that well with saving!) I bet you'll fly down to zero before you know it.
  • Hmm, well Experian said it couldn't verify me so has sent a PIN out by post, so I'll have to log into the site again once I get it to see my report. Hope my £7 still tracks!!

Just been looking at the weather on Helvellyn.com - sleet, snow and THUNDER!!

How about you stay at home with a nice warm cuppa and watch neighbours? :D
You have more guts than I do!
  • It's tempting with a forecast like that I have to say! But Al really really wants to go and I do too and we've been putting it off for about 6 months because the weather's been so horrendous. I guess we can go across and maybe just go up Catbells or something if it's that bad!

Where's Dinah this morning? Hope feeling ok!

I was thinking that, I bet she's cosied up in bed. Or atleast that's what I'd be doing if I was at home.. *sigh*

I'm sure you'll feel that little bit more proud if you manage to do it in horrible weather compaired to when it's nice and sunny and tip toe through the tulips. Be much more fun!

I'm not sure it's entirely safe to be climbing mountains in those conditions Tete! It's pointless to put yourself at risk in poor conditions when you could go next weekend instead.

So today I have another thrilling to do list comprising:
    • Wrap remaining parcels (29)
    • 2 Dooyoo reviews
    • Get to 525 on STP
    • Daily surveys
    • Free scratchies
    • Onepoll
    • Toluna polls
    • List old laptop on ebay
OH has been very nice to me and has been doing my surveys most days recently, otherwise I think the endless questions about my phone and grocery habits might have driven me to madness. He even did some STP for me last night, he's thinking about setting up an account on there himself too. Very in support of that, anything extra he earned on there could go into his savings, so he'd be moving forward, albeit slowly, while he's looking for a job.

Should get under 3k in Feb, that would be fantastic.
    Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81
    Debt September 20th 2022 £2991.68- 96.92% paid off

And then when you're debt free this thread will... wi... *shakes*.. end?! [insert drama queen smilie]
You'll have to start a spin off thread. That's a question. Where do the DFW go when they loose their W?

    How are you feeling today?

Nah I'm not going anywhere, I'm considering it pre-emptive debt clearance - saving up for my house deposit!

Feeling okay, can't find OH tho!

Think I might have just made enemies on the families board too! Made a post on that 'Financial harmony in relationships' hunt thread, but yet again my views seem likely to be contraversial. Some bloke just wound me up going on about his OH not 'pulling her weight' because she earned a lower salary. Some people just don't have the same oppertunities in life, or aren't driven by material gain. My career could lead me to a 6 figure salary, but I'm not chasing it, in fact I want out of my career. Some people just aren't forfilled by the number of digits on a payslip and increasingly I'm one of them. Would she be not pulling her weight if she was on maternity leave too?! Grrrr!

    You feeling better now Cinny?

  • Hmm, but I bet she does all the cooking and cleaning as well as her job if he's anything like he sounds. Well I'm off in a min, I like this half-day lark, will catch up with you all later!
