    Hi Rylynn,

I phoned the Co-op Pre BR and told them why I was opening the account. This was all sorted over the phone and agreed on the same day.

I did not use the account and it had a nil balance at time of BR.Told OR about account and that it was to be my main account and that there was nothing in it and he was happy to leave it alone.

    Co-op have been absolutely fine

    Cheers DEz

  • I've opened a joint a/c and sole a/c with Co-Op since going BR on Friday without any problem whatsoever but they have never been a creditor of ours. The girl on the front desk even said that the Cashminder a/c was especially for bankrupts. I've got sort-codes and a/c no's for both accounts already and have notified almost everyone that needs them.

Thank you for your replies I have been worried about my wages and DDs as I do not want to get behind with any utility bills, or find my wages have no where to go either and we have a cut off point at which we can inform the wages people.

Will look online now to see where my nearest branch is, as the only one I knew about has been closed recently!

  • Rylynn, if you're going with Co-Op just do it over the phone as it's much quicker and easier than going to the branch. You can then use the post office to bank cheques if you need to.

:D Thanks on a mission I have looked online the more local one has closed but there is one in town, no different to Nat West on that score. Local post office is only a mile so that is handy to know about, but I hardly even pay any cheques into my account, no one gives me any money you see.. .boo hoo!

I take it you cannot withdraw at the PO, but the electron card can be used at cash point machines, do they charge for that service or is that only on foreign currency which I sadly will not be needing for a very long time!:A

Will sort out these forms, then make the call to the Debt line, wil ring the court tomorrow though as I think the waiting time may be much longer than it was in June!

I was hoping to keep my Nat West account but from what others are saying there is little to no hope of that.

  • I can't see why you can't withdraw cash from the PO?? Cash machines depend on the person running them really so some charge, some don't but it should make it clear before you complete the transaction.

Thanks I meant the ones like in Tescos, they do not charge for me to use my Nat West Solo card, however local shop (dodgy) cash machine charges £1.65 I think, so I do not use that.. daylight robbery!

  • Yes you can use them in any cashpoint that you would use any other card in. The only ones you get charged at are the ones you usually find in corner shops that say they charge an arm and a leg per transaction.
