I know you said it's definitely string, but have you ruled out all food-related things? I'm thinking along the lines of stringy bits in sugarsnap peas and stuff - has he been eating anything like that?
Apart from that, I don't really have personal experience of string in poo, so no idea. Prunes and orange juice etc is probably a good idea to shift whatever it is, and do keep us updated - I'm intrigued!
(I'd love to know what search words you used in Google BTW :rotfl:)0 -
Sorry CG, but I'm still with the worm theory. Do they look like the ones on this page? You need to click through on the view picture link - not for the faint-hearted as they are shown 'in context' as it were - http://www.mcneilhealth.co.uk/familyhealth/Threadworms_486_486_138.html
well...of all the ways i imagined spending my monday night... it wasnt looking at that picture! bleeeeeeeeee!
i know your all only going from what ive said, but its definitely not worms, it is ACTUAL string, its not thin white or that short
it is something he has found on the floor and eaten, same as when he pooed out the hair... how he ate it...we dont know, but he did!
ive got the flaming thing in the bathroom... dont make me post a picture of it just to prove its not a worm!
Dormouse - i had thought about stringy food... but this looks more like a thread off the carpet, but our carpet isnt frayed anywhere
he pooed tonight after the prunes, but i didnt get the tweezers out to inspect it LOL and i cant see any more coming out... so maybe its all over?
jesus.... what didnt i type into google
baby ate string
baby ate hair
pica
string in poo
hair in poo
then i tried all of the above with 'stool' and 'feaces' and 'poop' instead of poo
dog ate string
dangers of eating hair
hair tangled in stomach
pooed out hair
and then allsorts of variations of things hanging out of bum... which led me in some exceptionally weird places...including one site going on about people who do strange yoga, swallowing a long cloth but keeping hold of the other end and pulling it out to "cleanse the stomach system" ugh
then it all went deviant... so i gave up! :rotfl:
I cant say im terribly worried, as he is perfectly normal and i cant see anything now i just wondered if any of you had anything similar happen?
obviously Danny is more of a floor grub than your babies! lol0 -

Eeeeeeuuuwwwww! Does that mean that the dog hair in his dirty nappies is hair he's eaten?? I mean the stuff gets everywhere and I just assume it falls off me (I sound filthy :rotfl:) when I'm changing Joseph. Wow.
I had worms when I was a child...... :doh:_pale_ Did I type that out loud? Shut up woman!:wall:0 -

First, I'm a Celebrity and now this!

Get used to worms, headlice and all sorts of yukky things they pick up at school
My 9 year old has just had thread worms, so we've all had to be treated as they are passed on easily.
I had a collie who used to eat all sorts of strange things. Memorable poo's included a missing sock that he passed whole, and the lost collar from my other dog. How the buckle didn't damage his insides, I'll never know. He also used to eat crayons and tin foil and do multi coloured sparkly poos. They were quite pretty really. Here I go again on my own....0 -
Great story btw CG! I hope you get cleaner mysteries to solve.
Right. Please can you all in an orderly fashion name a book or two that helped you understand your toddlers. We've gone past the 'first year' stage and I need help! I'm sure we do everything wrong, like laughing at naughty things, giving in to tantrums, etc. I need a good guide(s). Please please pretty please.:wall:0 -

Ok Agutka me first - I'm currently reading "toddler taming" by Dr Christopher Green, I read it when ds1 was a tearaway toddler and it helped me with a few things....
Only on page 10 though so as I can't remember much about it from the first time not sure yet if I would recommend it - however it helped with ds1 so it can't be too bad.MSE PARENT CLUB MEMBER.ds1 nov 1997ds2 nov 2007:jFirst DDFirst DD born in june:beer:.0 -
