Those babylegs do look cute, but I can't help thinking DS2 would have had them off. He did like being able to chew his toes ... :rotfl:Any question, comment or opinion is not intended to be criticism of anyone else.2 Samuel 12:23 Romans 8:28 Psalm 30:5

It's a well kept secret - I lived opposite it (near the station) for a year before I found out about it. The road entrance is on the other side kind of opposite the DLI museum. If you look on this map, it's in the triangle made by the yellow bit of North Road, the railway line and Framwellgate Peth(A691).
Thanks for that, cant seem to get my bearings though.....am i right in thinking that if i go up Framwellgate Peth, past Highgate (towards hospital) its on the left just after you go under the railway bridge? Im assuming that the DLI museum is the round glassy looking building under the bridge on the right??? I love my gorgeous little girl0 -

Can we stop with the pate talk pls?! I've only been pregnant for a matter of weeks and have had to say no 3 times! I LOVE pate so this is not good...
Well, the builders moved in on Monday and there is officially no roof on our dining room. They are currently fitting the floor joists while Imogen sleeps. Yes, sleeps! Can't believe she's just zonked out while all the banging, sawin and clattering goes on around her! On the negative side, it's tipping down and I'm a bit worried about our wooden floor. To be fair to the builders, it is hidden below a tarpaulin, some old carpet and a load of solid insulation to try to protect it.
Feeling a bit sick at the moment and the only thing that works is to eat. I'm trying to be good, but the weight just seems to be piling on at the mo. I'm going to continue at Slimming World, so hopefully that will keep me in check. I only put 2 stone on last time, so am hoping I'm just having a spurt at the start. Fingers x-d!
Right, off for a snuggle on the settee to see if I can doze for a short while like Imogen...MSE Parent Club Member #1Yummy slummy mummy club member50% slummy, 50% mummy, 100% proudImogen born Boxing Day 2006Alex born 13 July 20090 -
Have I missed something? What are you all voting for?
you wouldnt have missed it but because i put a direct link apparently my post got removed (yipes!)
the lovely lovely ladies were voting on bounty.com, on the baby of the month competition... there is a rather gorgeous chap matching my avatar pic on page 5 called Daniel, who would send you a big toothy but slightly dribbly grin if you could vote too!
re the vests thing, i still crack out the vests about this time of year for my daughter and shes 8 1/2, i would rather she was a smidgen too toasty than a bit too cold,
and i would LOVE to put tights on the boy... but im not allowed  :rotfl:0 -
Babylegs don't cover the feet so there's easy access to toes.
The beauty of tights was that I put them on under his trousers and a) he couldn't take them off so his feet didn't get frostbitten and b) no-one knew unless I told them that he was wearing tights not socks!
Oh, and of course I should pass all your thanks on to my best friend who suggested it at the time, and even let me have a couple of pairs of her daughter's cast-offs in primary colours!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
My brother was in 'boys' tights until he started primary school...well, that was what Mum told him anyway! The IVF worked;DS born 2006.0

I haven't posted on here in ages as life has been quite busy and i have been struggling a bit with the boys, but i think we have hit a better patch again (touchwood smiley if there was one
)
I'm so glad i popped in. It is reassuring to know that i am not the only one who struggles. bailey it was nice to see you posting even if it was that you were having a tough time too, as it definitely showed me i am not alone.
DS1 is thankfully being an angel most of the time. He has had his 2nd birthday, and so has lots of new things to occupy him - sticklebrick, different art and craft stuff, new bike, new DVDs. He is advancing so quick mentally it still surprises me. He can recognise most of the common colours, and can count up to ten, so he passed his 2year health visitor check no problem. He is being a bit accident prone at the minute, but having a good laugh. We played a brilliant game today where we were trying to attach pegs to each others clothes, pretending it hurt and chasing each other. He had me in stitches as he was laughing so much, and then came out with 'just chill out mummy.' I do have to keep checking i have no pegs on me when i go out, but it is a good cheap game that he is loving at the minute. The only downside is he has mostly given up on his afternoon nap, but at least he is now tired at 7pm again, and loving being in his big boy bed.
DS2 has gone from being chilled out to a bit of a monster. I was thinking of going to the Drs and getting put on ADs as he has been screaming at me every time i put him down, still not sleeping right. We seemed to be cracking it, but now he has a horrible cold and he won't settle well, and once the first few hours of the evening have passed (usually by about 10pm when we want to sleep) he has then been waking every hour or so, but from reading what the rest of you are putting up with, i don't have it as bad as some. He doesn't sleep for more than about 30 minutes at a time during the day either. I'm hoping we sort this out when he starts moving more TBH.
Sorry, but of a long one. I seem to have missed so many birthdays, so i hope they all had good ones and you enjoyed it too.
Agutka my only chicken pox tip i have is adding some bicarb to the bath water is supposed to ease the itching. Haven't tried it myself but it was recommended on here.
vests i have just put DS1 back in them. He won't wear jumpers most of the time unless they are so tight he can't get them off. I did stop him wearing them round about last March when he had gastro and he kept having nappy leaks so i had to bin loads. I put him back in them because i am finding it chilly, and the numpties at nursery said he was hot so they took his thick polo shirt off him, then let him sleep for over an hour with no top on. I know he was probably too hot while running around, but they soon lose heat, so i see it they would leave him in at least something.
potty training i am thinking we need to start it fairly soon - we have the pants, the potty and toilet seat, but i am putting it off as it seems like it might be blooming hard work. He was sitting on and using the potty when i was pg, but advice was not to change things when baby was due, he will sit on it with no nappy, but hasn't used it yet - i will keep persevering i think.
lu big congrats on the pregnancy. You can buy ginger herbal tea - that helped me with the early sickness with DS2 - i thought it would never end
heather belated congrats on the safe arival of AJ0 -
Aaargghh. How long does chicken pox last?? *soooo tired*...:wall:0
