Does anybody know what foods i should avoid while breast feeding?

    Can i have pate now?????
As far as I know, the only thing to avoid is peanuts if you have allergies in the family otherwise there is nothing particular - just eat a healthy diet.

  • Ugh, my little daughter is really under the weather today. She's all snotty and clingy, has slept for most of the morning and doesn't want to do anything except snuggle. I'm keeping her topped up with anything I can get her to eat and drink (which isn't much) but I'm really glad this has come on a day where her brothers are at nursery and school.

Poor wee sausage. We're watching Wayne's World though and she's loving Bohemian Rhapsody!

I wish Joseph was snuggly, but no, he prefers just to cry and moan.
Which thankfully he hasn't yet with this particular illness. Although he has been on edge, like there's something bothering him, but he doesn't know what.
But OMG!! The spots are just sooooo... everywhere. And growing. His lovely skin! I bet he's wondering why Mummy keeps staring at him with pity

Can anyone tell me why I have a sudden pate craving? ;)
    :wall:
  • wwwwooohhhhhhoooooooo bring on the pate and runny eggs
guess i will have to stay off the cashew nuts for while then.

  • The swings just along from the house have no swings, only the frames but thats this horrible place for you

There are a couple of lovely ones a few miles away, the one i was thinking of is on the back roads into Durham although i know you dont go that way. It has baby swings, a roundabout, those springy jumpy things in the ground and i think a seesaw, it always looks lovely and quiet and the people there look like 'nice clean people' lol

    :rotfl:

Not sure I'd be allowed in then seeing as I always look like a hag on my days off work!

What are your views on vests for toddlers?

My Mam usually looks after Charlotte on weekday mornings so I can work. She has insisted that Charlotte has a vest on since the end of September. She usually wears trousers and a long sleeved t-shirt.

I don't think vests are necessary at the moment, but I will put her in one when it gets colder - say less than 5°C outside.

She's been vest free this week as my parents are on holiday, so she's staying here with me full time, and I've not noticed any ill effects from her not having a vest on.

Just wondering what everyone elses views on vests are!

I tend to judge coldness on how I feel as I suffer from Raynauds, but I've not had to layer up clothes yet, and I'm just in the one layer of clothes.
Here I go again on my own....
  • Ooh I think it's chilly enough for a vest, they keep the draughts out! I read that babies should wear 1 layer more than you. So Elliot always has a vest, plus long sleeved t-shirt/jumper and trousers or if it's pretty cold, vest, dungarees, and cardigan. Getting him to keep his socks on though is another matter

I do tend to layer my own clothes too though, short sleeved cardi over long sleeved T or stripy vests under jumpers etc - I am really feeling the cold at the moment!

I'm disgusted at the mother of Baby P and very upset by it. I can't believe that anyone would do or allow to happen all the horrific injuries that poor baby suffered. They both need to be locked away for life and sterilised. Some people do not deserve to have any children at all.

Rhys has been wearing a vest since the beginning of Oct, he has a habit of lifting up his top to show everyone his belly so need the extra layer to ensure he is covered and warm. he definitely sleeps better at night with a vest on as well.
