I have come to the conclusion that my child is a snob
He hates Tesco - really hates it. Three times now he has had a screaming fit in there...a 'not calming down without a boobie' screaming fit. I quickly grabbed a couple of sleeping bags for him (he is now too long for his old ones ) and left.
On the way home I remembered I needed something for dinner so I popped into Sainsburys and he sang and smiled all the way round!!
He is a bl00dy supermarket snob!
Maybe I will try him in Waitrose tomorrow - we may get our first giggle!!please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
Becles - she is just too cute!!
I have been trying to encourage hubby to be a bit more confident (for want of a better word) with Benjamin...just because I breastfeed shouldn't mean that I am the only one that can comfort etc.
Anyway, after I gave Benjamin his bath (hubby is scared he will drop the slippery baby!) I handed him over and disappeared to get some housework done. 25 minutes later baby has been fed, winded and is sound asleep...admittedly on one of the sofas...but nonetheless sound asleep :T

Has anyone used Dentinox colic drops? Any better or worse than Infacol?
I found the infacol and gripe water both useless for Kai, tried dentinox and it has been an amazing difference.....but, I put it in the bottle, so I don't kow how well it would work if you just gave it at the begginning of a feed? I feel it works well in the bottle as it is working right theough the whole feed iyswim.

Me too MFD.
I ran the bath last night, and asked OH to bring Violet in in 5 minutes, so she could get in with me. He brought her in - fully dressed! So I made him undress her (he's scared he'll break her with his big man hands!), then after a 20 minute wash and splash, I made him take her out and get her ready for bed, give her the expressed bottle i'd prepared earlier and put her to bed! It all went very smoothly and I think he was secretely proud of himself! :rotfl:
I'm watching a few bumbo's on ebay - they seem to be going for around £17-£20 - unless you want a red one which seem to be going for nearer £32.:beer:0 -
We used Infacol on Jack and my MIL used dentinox on him when he was at hers. Both gave the same results. Molly didn't get on with infacol but dentinox helped her lots. Its trial and error per child i think.
Jack is still up, he had 1.5hrs nap today on the sofa, i know i shouldn't have let him have that long but mollly was asleep too and i was having a rest on the other sofa! He was in his room between 7-9pm clearly not tired, so after a poo (in the loo!!!) he's back downstairs watching balamory and eating an apple. The summer nights are really confusing him, he came downstairs saying he was awake and he'd like some breakfast. I had to laugh and remind him he's not gone to sleep yet.
I was hoping for an early night this evening.
We had a bumbo that i bought for £10 second hand, Jack didn't like it but molly did for a while. Sold it on for £15.
For constipated babies, i would second prune juice either syringed with a dentinox 2.5ml syringe or nurofen one or given in a bottle of water or milk at night time. As mine were on gaviscon which can bung them up, both their nightly feed had prune juice in and they poo'd first thing always.
On weaning, Jack was 6ms and still couldn't have cared less, we didn't get going properly with him until 8ms when I skipped the purees and starting giving him our food mashed down with a bit of milk if it was dry.
My first thoughts with the buggy brolly was the rain would just run off the brolly onto the baby underneath, then I remembered if it was raining, they'd have a raincover on too. Doh!! Personally think its a bit of a gimmick and could be more hinderance than help, but saying that i've not tried one.
Molly had new shoes today, she's not grownn but her shoes were done in and not supportive anymore. So she is the proud owner of her 1st Doodles. Both my kids feet haven't grown in months, shouldn't complain though. Its very MSE.
I'm not working, after only a month at it. They wanted me to do mandatory training days about 12 in total, which I couldn't do due to the kids. I'd been having second thoughts due to Jack getting clingy and me and DH crossing like ships during the week. So its a mutual thing anad i'm glad, it didn't feel right and i was getting stressed by it. The extension can wait another year, my kids are more important and i want to be there for them. I'll be a SAHM till Molly goes to primary school.
Right its now dark outside, once Brum is finished that boy is going to bed to sleep.0 -

Calpol is evil inmy house my lot bounce off the walls however with the chemists own brand they are fine??? Meg seems a lot worse today than yest and being up from 4.30 and not being able to settle doesnt help. i have given her medised so hope it helps her sleep?
Got lots of nice pics of the dog with her new family today, yet again i was in tears and was trying to hide it from the kids who have been really grown up and understanding about it. i wish i could be the same, feel so low??? anyway im off to bed exhaustion has caught up with me:(What's for you won't go past you0 -

I hated the dentinox colic 'drops' - I think when u compare the 0.3mls of infacol to the 2.5mls of dentinox they can't me described at drops
I also thought the dentinox smelled minging, left a coating on the inside of bottles and was just too much for Chris to swallow on its own.
The thing I hear the most praise for is Colief http://www.colief.com/ but I think it is a lot more expensive.
But TBH looking back I'm not sure that infacol even did anything for Chris he still had 'colic' while I was giving him infacol so for bump I'm gonna do without and see how it goes0 -
Morning all. We made a brilliant discovery yesterday - Izzy LOVES fennal tea. So much so that she didn't want any milk because it didn't taste as nice, then was starving hungry later on :rotfl:. Might have to rethink that one!
(She has also tried pumpkin over the last few days and yesterday she had a bit of one of my strawberries, I might try carrot for a few days now, or maybe apple. The choices is mine for the moment!)
We're off for 3rd lot of jabs today, so I'm preparing myself for a few days cuddling on the sofa. I think I'm up to the challenge.

Morning all,
I haven't fully caught up, so not sure if any hugs are owing!;):o
:T:T:T caz that's great news
I wanted to ask about clothes, Fergie is 10 weeks and will probably be needing to go up to his 3-6 month clothes from his 0-3 soon. Thing is, whilst I'm packing away the 0-3 or newborn clothes I'm realising there's lots of lovely things he's been given that he's never worn, usually little versions of grown up outfits like t shirts and trousers.
Do you guys experience the same thing, that babygros and a vest with poppers are so much easier for incessant nappy changes that that's all they wear?!
What is the point of the little dungaree outfits for 0-3 month babies?
I'd be interested in your thoughts!
Love Weezl x
