Scruffy - how about musical bumps, kiddies usually find that hilarious!

Well after declaring that I was NOT going to spend a lot on a highchair this time round.....I have fallen in love with this one.

    http://www.kiddicare.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/productdisplayA_0_10751_-1__80224_10001_

Of course I could never buy it but it is fab:D

    Mel x

Thats a really lovely highchair - but HOW MUCH!!

Who was saying about the Bumbo yesterday?
I'm really confused. My cousin swears its the best thing she's ever bought for her DS. But looking at reviews - they're like marmite! People either love them or hate them - no middle ground.
And its a lot of money to waste if we hate it.

Violet hates lying down now, she's trying to lift her top half up to have a look around - she'd hate to miss anything!

My friend has just been with her little girl, 10 weeks older than Violet. The difference 10 weeks makes is amazing! She's rolling over, munching on her baby rice and about 2x the length!

Today we are off to meet some mummies and babies for lunch but its raining! Its quite a walk and not good parking so I am thinking I'll just have to prepare to get wet. Prams should come with mummy covers as well as their own raincovers :D

Not sure if you've seen these not quite raincovers but if you go out walking alot might be worth the money, I thought bout buying one for walking the dog but never got round to it.

Does anybody here worry about vitamin D? I googled Little Stars to find out what they were and on the FAQ page they explain why they don't fortify their yoghurts with vitamin D.

On the Bumbo seat we were lent one and found it useful but not so useful that it would've been worth paying full price for.

It was handy to have a second baby seat (the first being a bouncy chair) so we could have one upstairs and one downstairs (especially since Alice didn't like lying down). The Bumbo did have a longer time of usefulness than the bouncy chair as we were still using it up to about 10 months but a thinner legged child would have been able to get out of it sooner.

We also used it for Alice to sit in for meals when we went on holiday at nine months (I think you can get a tray but we just handed her bits of food) and it was good protection when an over affectionate 5yo and 2yo were playing with her as it meant they didn't knock her down accidentally.

Lu - maybe you could really treat MIL when its her b-day or something, get everyone she helps to club together to send her off on a weekend break? force her to have some time to relax ;)

3 - they usually have a bumbo on display in boots and mothercare so maybe pop her in one and see if she has an instant reaction? Chris was squirming to get out the second we put him in it

Getting wet pushing a pram.. I have just invested in a proper waterproof coat  I've been looking for one since Chris was tiny so only 2yrs 4mths!! :rotfl: Me, fussy? Nooo

I didn't know that about little stars, I suppose that's how they manage to have so few ingredients.
Vit D has been in the news a lot lately but I doubt your LO will be at risk of having low levels especially if you are still out riding your bike with her on the back ;)
There have been problems with Children from certain Asian backgrounds due to the bhurkas (sp?) they wear and also Children that spend all their time playing games consoles etc getting rickets tho!

Mel - May I suggest something a little less pricey http://www.lidl.co.uk/uk/home.nsf/pages/c.o.20090526.p.Mac_Baby_Deluxe_Highchair.ar7
:D I do like that one tho, there is a similar one that Krystal was looking at that isn't quite as pricey - can't remember what its called!

    Inglesina Zuma
... It is everything I want and need :D

Have told hubby we're not buying it until we start using the dining table for eating and not just storing the recycle box / Aimee's crafting things...

Scruffy, love the buggy brolly!!! Might just have to invest in one of those... Although I wonder how good they are on a windy day...

Caz, my sympathies on the medicine induced crazy child... Some of the antibiotics Aimee's been prescrobed for her pesistent water infections have the same effect... At least you know it's not for longer than a week...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

3 - it was me on about bumbos - hubby is 'thinking about it' so i'm keeping an eye on ebay and asking friends as I see them, if they have one I can test before I buy ;)

caz - no idea about the medicine, but your health visitor and GP should be able to give you some advice either way - as LuT (I think) said not all e numbers are always bad.

lunch was great fun and we didn't get too wet! LO being an angel today n- lets hope we get another nice evening/night - but I'll not count my chickens :D

I like that one too Krystal:D
I really don't know what to do and I wanted to get one soonish!

Caz - hope you get something sorted with the medicine.

rmac - glad you had a nice lunch:)

Sami - I was meant to ask, how is Chris coming along with potty training?

Ooooh Kai is a little telly addict!!! He is gonna end up a big fat couch potato if I don't keep an eye on him:p He loves it when the older two put Spongebob on, and he is sat there 'talking' away at In The Night Garden at the moment:rotfl:

Is it just me? Milkybar YOGURT?! Surely the Trades Descriptions Act would have something to say about that? We were both really tickled (luckily, instead of annoyed) that MIL thinks of that as yogurt, whereas we'd think of it as chocolate. I guess we're still precious with what she eats, she is 2.5, but at least we can smile rather than getting wound up about it.

It's chocolate mousse not yoghurt. I've bought them occasionally for the boys but as a special treat, not an everyday dessert. It's normally in the section next to the yoghurts though.

My Mam feeds Charlotte the Petit Filous chocolate desserts but I'd rather she had the fruit fromage frais ones :o

Had a heart warming moment just now. She finished her tea and handed me the plate across the table and said "thank you Mam." It's the first time she's said that.
Here I go again on my own....
