Can you believe I told my boss I'd be working from home tomorrow (I already had Weds arranged) and she asked me what I'd be doing?! I said I would by no means be doing the full 8 hours, but would probably do 6, that I had sent myself some bits home to do and that if I ran out of work I could just take a sick day instead. Humph!

Hurrah, contact from Emma Jane. Think I'm a 38 b/c!!

Well done Chris - that is adorable!

Caz - result! Like the idea of having a treat if you can carry on managing on less.

Right, cake's here and Eastenders is on. Time to put my feet up.

We have the bouncy chair that me and my brother sat in as babies :) Izzy wasn't keen on it when she was tiny, but will sit in it quite happily now. It is tilted quite far back though, and she seems to want to sit up straighter, so I think I will drag the high chair out tomorrow, and we can have a go in that. She can't sit up by herself yet (well, not for long anyway!) so I will have to experiment with towels or something to prop her up.

(High chair used to belong to my nephew too... we've not done too badly out of hand-me-downs!)

Right folks get your thinkin caps on, I'm posting this here and not on the special occasions board coz I think I'll get more age related replys here.
Els birthday is christmas day so having a 1/2 day party on 25 June what games can we play with 18 month olds (obviously parents will have to play to). There will be a few older kids 3,7,9 and 11 (9 and 11 is her cousins so they will play anything with her)
Pass the parcel and then my mind went blank

    TIA

Has anyone else got a 'snacky' baby?

During the day Benjamin seems to be wanting to feed every hour ATM. I don't mind as long as he keeps it during the day (we still get over 6 hours from him at night) but I do wonder if it is a bad habit to get into...although what I can do about it if that is what he wants I don't know.

He is otherwise happy so I really shouldn't moan - I just feel really conscious that I am constantly feeding him when there are other people around.

Edit: Sorry, I forgot to say that feeding so often means he is getting lots of infacol and I worry that that could be what is affecting his bowels (poo'd today, first one since Thursday).

Tom is a snacky baby and always has been. Initially the HV and such just said it was as he only had a tiny tummy (only 5 and a half pounds at birth) but as time goes on I just think that's the way he is. He still likes to eat all day long and is constantly grazing.

Bumbos - Tom wouldn't sit in his. He used to straighten his legs and push and almost tip himself over and it didn't take long before he could just climb out. I still think the idea of them is great though if you don't have an escapologist baby.

Poor Tom fell down today - flat on his face. He has a big bruise across his nose and a fat lip where he bit it. He has got to be the clumsiest baby in the world, poor thing. It doesn't help that he's always trying to climb on everything and shows no fear at all.
  • Poor Tom - hope he is okay.

I'm not looking forward to the first time Benjamin hurts himself - I get upset when he scratches his face :o

Scruffy - pin the tail on the donkey usually goes down well with all ages - we usually do one at christmas when the family comes round, DSS draws a reindeer on a big piece of lining paper. We did a pig for a BBQ last June too...

Arnica cream is supposed to help with bruises. (Or so we were told yesterday when Alice fell over on the stairs at church.)

Scruffy - be warned Pass the Parcel can cause more tears than joy! :p We played it at one of our groups when it was one of the tots b-day and most of them were too small to understand the concept and just got really upset that they weren't allowed to open the present! (It was quite funny in a cruel way tho :o)

We haven't played games at any of the b-day parties we've been to just some singing, dancing and balloon throwing (have I been to rubbish parties??)

You can all be happily smug now tho because Chris is STILL awake! he's currently tucked up in bed with OH watching TV in the hope that he'll drop off :naughty:

Susan - the instruction leaflet says arnica isn't to be used on the face :( I've never used my tube because I always forget!
