Its not fair tsstss7, how come Archie will go to sleep that early and I am lucky to get Henry in bed for 9-9.30 most nights!! I know we have dinner at 6.30-7pm, then bath at 8pm but he never wants to go to sleep before then and he's always awake before 5 (norm manage to have in bed with me back to sleep for an hour and then up at 6). Even if we have a late night say 10.30- 11pm he is still awake at 6!!!
Oh forgot to say Mother and Baby Magazine June 09 has free ITNG book and also Cbeebies DVD as well, just picked mine up.
Hi Maz
No particular skill I'm afraid I just insisted that 6-6.30 is bedtime (start of routine) at around 7 mths and stuck to it whether or not he (and OH) liked it or not ....:D. At first we had quite alot of night feeds but they finally went at around 8/9 mths although we do still get the odd annoying night wakings now and again if OH has been too enthusiastic when going in to check on him at night.
I know it seems a bit extreme to some and means OH doesn't get to see him much in the week unless he's home early but LO will get up at around 7am whatever time I put him to bed (which is quite common I think) and if he gets much less than 12 hrs a night he is a bit of a handful the next day.
Plus mummy needs her ME time and time to catch up with DS1 and the housework which is always woefully neglected int he day due to the fact that LO only has about 1 hr nap in the day (maybe 2 on a good day and this is never affected by how much sleep he has had at night) so I don't get any free time in the day at all really (am only able to type this as LO is in his high chair eating/throwing lunch).
My cousin had 5am wakers so I don't envy you - the usual remedy is to insist they stay in bed until morning (and have blackout curtains) but not easy at this age really....I try and ignore Archie if he wakes up too early in the hope he will go back to sleep - thank god he is still in a cot!
REDMEL - I'd be interested to know how you get on with the chicco ...I bought a normal buggy last year while on holiday but the difference in handling was like the difference between a go kart and a merc ....I had to go back to the loola as it was far easier to push...even dispite the extra weight.
I have a rough feeder too ..in the morning I feed him lying down while in bed and he kicks OH while he has his feed ..the rest of the day I get all the attention....his fav trick at the moment is to latch, suck for 3 secs then pull off taking my nipple with him and then saying oooow when he pulls off.....he is a little scamp :rotfl:.MSE PARENT CLUB MEMBER.ds1 nov 1997ds2 nov 2007:jFirst DDFirst DD born in june:beer:.0 -
Am I weird or would you be upset if your hubby suggested giving away all your baby stufffeelinggood wrote: »Also, not medical advice, just general query. How can you tell the difference between a pimple on the nipple, and a blocked duct?I kept a feed/sleep diary from when Chris was tiny until he was over 12mths (I know it was probably completely unnecessary and I can't even validate it with any excuse now
)
I also have a spreadsheet where I enter information to make graphs and do data analysis. It means I can give you useless information like Alice has fed for 1285.5 hrs which is about 7% of her life.

Took Ello swimming for the first time today, she loved it and got lots of attention from the old ladies whose session is after mums and tots so I think swimming on thursdays is a winner! I used to take millie and she would sleep brilliantly afterwards so lets hope Ello is the same.
Unfortunately she has developed a sleepy/sticky/weepy eye all of a sudden, so will keep an eye on that.MFW Start Sep 07 £79484, Now £587740 -

A blocked duct tends to be further up the breast than the nipple and you can relieve it by expressing milk and gently smoothing the blockage towards the nipple to encourage the flow... You can get something called a white spot or 'bleb' on the nipple which is where milk collects behind a thin layer of skin... This is slightly different and dealt with in a different way...
Its on the nipple. Not the sticky out bit, the other roundy bit. It was a sore white lump, can't tell if it is pus or milk though. Its now very red and sore, and still a bit white under the skin.Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0 -
That isn't normally where milk would be coming out so more likely to be a spot... Are you still OK expressing with it there or is it causing you problems? I'd express a small amount of milk from your nipple and rub it onto the sore area and leave it to air as much as possible...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I'm alright with expressing, as long as I'm careful with positioning. I thought it'd probably just be a pimple, I'll keep and eye on it and hopefully it'll clear up soon. I'm having an expressing day today, so will be sat with my boobies out every 90 minutes, it'll get a lot of air!Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0 -
Feelie - I had something like this for AGES when I was feeding Imogen, accompanied by a hard bit further round in my boob. It was v. painful to feed. I found feeding her underarm (rugby-ball style) helped get rid, plus massaging towards the nipple when in the shower/bath.
Not sure how you'll get round this with your expressing, but perhaps you could try positioning the sucker-thing differently? I found this made the most difference.
See your HV if you're worried, although TBH they didn't have many suggestions.
HTH? Right, better go get Imogen from playgroup. Peace is over for today...MSE Parent Club Member #1Yummy slummy mummy club member50% slummy, 50% mummy, 100% proudImogen born Boxing Day 2006Alex born 13 July 20090 -
Well I got a reply from Asda:
Thank you for telling us your feedback on our Great Barr store's facilities.
We're always interested to hear what our customers think about our services. I'll certainly be passing your suggestion about getting more trolleys and the position of our trolley banks over to my colleagues in the store planning team.
Thanks again for taking the time to let us know your thoughts. We hope you'll continue to enjoy shopping with us.
Yours Sincerely

We will have to see if it actually makes any difference...although I probably won't be wanting one of those trolleys by the time they get some more!!
But at least they replied.
