Caz - staffs is up north to me ;) My Granny lives in Leek. This used to be her shed. Bit pokey for your massive brood though!

Re buggies, ours is a from birth one - smallest one we could find as our car is TINY (we still have to fold half the back seat down to fit it in.) We will get a cheap light stroller for day-to-day stuff when Izzy is a bit bigger. My mum keeps going on about getting an all terain one so she can still go for walks when she is doing her day of childcare when I go back to work. No use to me though, as it would be living at her house, and no-way we could fit one of them in the car and still take the baby with us ;)

We have one that is a Babies R Us only one. Presto something or other. (It was gone from the website last time I looked, I think they have upgraded to a new version) Just a normal buggy really, but it folds down flat. It's not a bad buggie, but not as good as if we'd not been trying to buy the cheapest and smallest one we could find. There is no suspension, so she gets bounced around a bit, and we're having to use a generic foot muff, which isn't perfect (but better than nothing!) And it has the same problem as most of them, where if the seat is laid down flat you can't get anything in the basket underneath. Nice and easy to put up and fold down though, and for the price we couldn't ask for more really :)

Izzy is big enough to sit up in it now, but I still fold it flat if she wants to sleep - she won't normally go to sleep sitting up in it yet. Still a bit too much thought involved in staying upright at the moment I think. When she is wanting to be upright the whole time we will see if we can get an umbrella buggy to do for round the shops, and just keep this one for long days out and other occasions where we might still want the fold-down-flat-ness!

ladybird - but what will you do when baby is at stage Oz is at now - ie too big and wriggly for sling and not quite walking yet? i'd love to get away with no buggy - they're such a pain and I always feel so clumsy using them cos i bang into EVERYTHING!!
Have you thought of a Hipseat? It's not something you'd have for a long shopping trip, but just for popping into Tesco when you can't be bothered to take the buggy out of the car, and don't need a trolley, it's ideal. We've used it since about 10 months, I think.

Boots seems to be the best place to get them - larger stores stock them, or you can get it online. Ebay prices are usually pretty steep compared to brand new.

ooh I meant to say not sure about a ring sling but Chris loved being carried on my back (at 2yrs old) in the wrap sling for the few weeks I could before my bump was too big - although having to make clip clop horsey noises accompanied by some 'trotting' got old quickly! :rotfl:

Bit of an odd night here. Hubby is away on a course and one of the barmaids in the hotel he is staying in is just young, pregnant and having a difficult pregnancy as she's got bad epilepsy so she's being closely monitored. Her and her b/f haven't got much money and are struggling.

I've got very strong broody feelings at the moment but he's not keen on any more. Then yesterday he suggested donating all our baby stuff to the girl in the hotel.

I do feel sorry for the young girl, but I don't want to give my baby stuff away, especially to a random stranger. If we don't have another one, I'd still like to keep it to use when grandchildren come to stay. My Mam did that and it's been so easy having stuff on hand, so I could just turn up without dragging half the house!

Am I weird or would you be upset if your hubby suggested giving away all your baby stuff
It may sound sexist, but i think it's quite sweet that a bloke would be so thoughtful, but then if my OH said it I dunno if i'd think the same IYSWIM.

    morning all!
I think we are making good progress with Ryan, Daddy gives him his last feed about 10pm-11pm, then I give him one at about 2am-2.30am which he only takes 2oz-3oz of (he's on 5oz all other times) then he's back to sleep till about 6.30am, 7am if i'm lucky, 5.50am if i'm not lol

Also i have a question about makin up bottles, how long can the cooled boiled water be left in the sterilised bottles before makin a feed?
I bought some of those things which you put inside the TT bottles and they hold the powder so you can make them up as you go along.

We going southend tommorrow visiting oh family, so dont know hoe long we'll be up there.
