Can anyone offer any advice on expressing? Feelie if you are around you must be an expert now!

I've expressed before with no problems but now my supply has settled down it's much harder, it took me all day yesterday, expressing for half an hour or so after every feed, to get 3oz.

Any ideas anyone? i do it with ello sat next to me which is supposed to help, I can't do it at the same time as feeding cos ello is a wriggler and i need both hands.

If you can't manage to double pump, can you spare a hand to stimulate the other nipple? Doesn't require as much concentration as double pumping, but does help me an awful lot. Means you can fuss the baby when they need it, but you still get some stimulation.

Could it be an emotional thing? I find that I struggle to get the same amount when I'm stressed or very tired.

Last thing I read was you should continue expressing for 2-5 minutes after the milk stops running, to make sure the signal gets through that you need to produce more. It makes a difference for me, when I remember to do it. Often I'm fed up at that point and want to stop!

Also, more frequent as opposed to longer expressings are good. I find I can express a full amount every 90 minutes, but if I only leave it an hour, I don't get as much.

MFD, she's just started actually taking both and pretty much emptying them so I guess after a feed is prob not the best time, its just thats what worked before.

I think yesterday because I actually was going out i really needed to get enough for her last feed, i don't think being under pressure helped!

I really hope i don't get tights! although I'm not convinced which size I'll get, I emailed her my bra size and she emailed me back with what my measurements should be for that size, the two did not relate at all so who knows what size it will be, guess it won't matter if its tights though!

MM - the pregnant ladies pretty much all found the size they were told was totally diff from what they were already wearing so we're eagerly awaiting the bras to see if they fit :p

Bruno - Maybe contact the manufacturer and they might be able to provide you with spare buckles to use :)

Chris is refusing to say please in his sentences so I've put my foot down and he's not getting any until he asks properly!
This could go on a while - its been 10 mins so far all I get is
C; I have some juice mummy?
M: No ask properly "Please can I have some Juice"
    C: yes!
M: no ask nicely "PLEASE can I have some Juice"
C: Yes *nods* I have juice mummy *cheeky grin*
    :rolleyes::wall:

Exactly the same here! Liv has won the weeky 'good manners' award in school quite a few times, if she goes to my mums, or to any friends for tea they tell me what a lovely, polite little girl she is!?!

I have no idea caz, Chris is the same for laughing if you give him a smack - boys!
I bumped into a friend from one of my groups, her lil boy is a month older than Chris and she has a lil girl who's 9mths, she was saying that girls are a nightmare :p

oh Chris disappeared up the stairs before but was quiet so I left him for a bit, when I went upstairs he obviously heard me coming and started 'snoring' :rotfl: I got up there to find him all tucked up pretending to be asleep
