I think I would be upset if it was a complete random stranger... What if someone in your family gets pregnant and you want to share some of your things with them...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Definitely upset! It's premature til you're both agreed on "the future".0

Becles - I'm just off to my first NCT Reunion. There is a lady who had twins, and as Toby has just outgrown his 'Tiny Baby' things, I thought I could ask if she wants them. Despite him still being tiny, and rationally knowing that I should offer, but I want to keep them! I was sorting through, thinking - Oh, he wore that when he came home, that was his first baby grow etc. I don't think you are being silly - I think its normal to want to keep things. I can understand about grandchildren - my Mum had great fun dressing Toby in my Brothers old things! It is great to have stuff there, we've got a 250 mile trip home and I like not having to cram the car full.
I'm off out to my first Coffee Morning with the ladies from the NCT Classes I went to. Get to meet some new babies! First time I've spoken to new mums in person, hopefully it'll help with the PND.
Last night was a difficult night, Baby had a bad belly which kept waking him up. Feel really sorry for him, don't know how a tiny tummy can make so much noise!
Also, not medical advice, just general query. How can you tell the difference between a pimple on the nipple, and a blocked duct?Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0 -
What does it look like feely? A blocked duct tends to be further up the breast than the nipple and you can relieve it by expressing milk and gently smoothing the blockage towards the nipple to encourage the flow... You can get something called a white spot or 'bleb' on the nipple which is where milk collects behind a thin layer of skin... This is slightly different and dealt with in a different way...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I've got one like that! Unless she's really sleepy she kneads, pulls my skin, sticks her fingers up my nose, tries to cram her foot in her mouth as well, pulls my bra, pulls my hair, pulls my fingers, pulls my lip, pulls my chin, puts her foot on my chest and pushes, kicks, wiggles, talks, trumps, slurps, waves, has a look around, dribbles and shouts. So in answer to your other question yes I do find it exhausting! ;-) I've tried a nursing necklace but she doesn't seem to realise she can eat and fiddle (with anything other than me!). I might try again though but with a squidgy toy so it doesn't hurt when I get whacked in the face!
Feelie, Toby is so cute!
Thank goodness for that. She sounds just like Tom. Sometimes it feels less like a feed and more like a full-scale battle.0 -
we had a screamer of an afternoon yesterday! LO sounded like she was in pain and comfort sucked all afternoon/evening. I think that it was a hangover from her jabs the day before. shes fine today after some calpol and a good nights sleep
we have a quiet day planned for today, thank goodness!r.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -
I find feeding exhausting and I don't have a fiddler!!
Benjamin holds his hands in two tight fists like he is ready to fight anyone who comes near his booby. Only once he has had a good feed can I get him to unclench his fists!! It does mean that I know once he is fed and is just topping up or suckling though (not that he lets me do anything about it most of the time!!)
Feelie enjoy your group.
We are keeping a sleep diary to see if I can get a grip on how much sleep Benjamin is getting (and the difference between the good and the bad days) - it makes for interesting reading.please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
OH goes through much the same thing BFing, she takes macabre satisfaction in showing me the scratches and even occasional bite-marks now on her boob after the ravening monster is in bed for the night... he always reaches for "something" with his free arm, sometimes to pinch or knead either breast, often to grab her nose, or her hair and pull. I am always unwinding bits of her hair from his little fist.0

Not asking for medical advice but when do you give baby calpol?
Benjamin hasn't had a temperature, at least I don't think so - used a normal thermometer under his arm, but he has been clammy...I have never given him anything before so I am not sure when I should and when I shouldn't. Don't want to dose him up for no reason.please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120
