We all line up and compare boobies ;):D

PS - It is actually called a 'Breastfeeding Support Group'...it's only me that calls it Booby Club :rotfl:

Thats exactly what I thought you did! :D

    Booby club is much better!

I'm off to find my local surestart - my HV is a useful as a chocolate teapot!

(And, me too! Many people look at me like i'm a crazed lunatic for STILL feeding at 13 weeks!?!)

Afternoon all. We've had a bit of a "not going to plan" morning. Didn'r leave as early as planned to go swimming. By the time I walked down there she was fast asleep in the buggy, so I walked round the park for 40 mins till she woke up, then when we went in we had missed the time for the little pool to be open and big pool was closed for the next half hour, so we had to hang around.

She was fine in the big pool luckily, despite it being quite cold. It was all full of oldies doing lanes, and she was being a big tart and grinning at them all :)

By the time I fed her and walked home we'd been out for 3 hours, which is crazy seeing as we were in the water for about 15 mins! I've not even done the washing up yet, so I'm hopin she will be cheerful this afternoon and let me get on with things.

We also had first try at baby rice today. I think we managed to get at least half into her, which isn't bad for a first atempt ;) The real test will be tomorrow lunchtime when we are out and about. I might have to cover everyone with plastic to protect them.

It's just a normal mums and babies group where we sit around and chat...but the 'leaders' are trained breastfeeding counsellors and everyone there breastfeeds so you can chat about any issues, ideas, problems etc. There are so many people out there that don't breastfeed and either think I am 'strange' for wanting to do so, or think I am very 'brave' to be STILL breastfeeding at 8 weeks that it is nice to go somewhere where it is very much normal.
Sometimes I am tempted to go to my local BF group just to see what sort of response I would get going with a two year old. It clashes with the Ladies Bible Study at church though so I doubt I ever will.

Eight weeks is just about when I got to feeling like I could carry on indefinitely - before that I was just aiming for four months.

We have 2 mums with approx 18 month old babies :D and lots of 10-12 month babies. We also have some non-breastfed babies because mums didn't manage to make it stick and at least 1 exclusive expresser. Oh - and they encourage pregnant ladies who want to breastfeed or learn more about breastfeeding to come along too.

I was surprised at the diverse age ranges of the mummies and babies, and genuinely very pleased to find a group that I enjoy.

I believe she threatened a forum (possibly Mumsnet?) with legal action because of what people were writing about her and her books and so that forum banned discussion of her and her books.

I used her book but like Aston's Mum I used it as a guide and I didn't agree with all of it. Actually I just lent it to someone I know who is expecting a baby and asked about it and I wrote 3 A4 pages about what we did differently.
oh I remember that now  Good job on here we're all 'normal' :p I think they were saying she encouraged abuse or something equally mental :rolleyes:

Maybe you should write a book Susan, what would you call it?

3 - My surestart has it 'own' HVs and MWs so maybe you could see a useful one there;) We have boobie club at ours too - I really must check when it is seeing as I'm due in 3 weeks and I want to go at least once before bubs!!

I need help from DIY SOS, that clutter busting woman, Kim & Aggie and maybe a nice chef to batch cook some scrummies for the freezer!:o maybe my internet will crash and I'll actually get something done for once!

oh and Susan - Krystal is involved in a boobie group (as she is trained BF support) she fed Aimee for something like 2/3 years. I'm sure they would all just be happy to see you :) She reassured me as I was a bit apprehensive about going with Chris in tow - I am still quite interested as to how he'll react to it as he's only bared witness to a BFing baby once in his little life and finds mummies boobies quite intriguing :p

Haven't tried fenugreek but I reckon quinoa made a difference.
