AM - I'm not following any book...I refuse to read any because I've seen too many of my friends being tied down by the 'rules' for looking after their kids (LOL - the irony!!). That's probably why I am on here asking daft questions all the time ;)
We got the GF book, but after reading loads of reviews we decided we wouldnt tie ourselfs to it as such but just use it as a sort of guideline for timings etc.
There are some things which I wont do and dont agree on such as the baby MUST go to sleep in his own room with blackout curtains, something which we dont have lol but he manages to sleep fine downstairs during the day when all the hussle and bussle is going on anyway.

I also bought the tracey hogg one (both cheaply off ebay i might add) to have a look at as it was recommeded alot by people who gave the GF book crap reviews (I am putting GF as i'm not sure if your allowed to mention her name on here)

AM - have you been shouted at for saying Gina Ford on another website?
I flicked through her contented baby book coz my friend used it to help her out in a routine (but like u didn't follow it all) I didn't like the sound but I got her potty training in 1 week book although I'm not sure if I will use it or not - I've still not got around to reading it! :o:p

Oh my boy was SO good at Booby Club today!! He normally sleeps, feeds and wants cuddles with mum but today he spent lots of time on the playmat and in one of those ring/nest thingies (god they are good!). Everyone said how well behaved he was!!

    I'm so proud!

We do the bedtime routine at 6- 6.30 most days (although we do have to do late visits sometimes which puts us back) and that is my fav bed time in terms of how lo behaves the next day.

Its not fair tsstss7, how come Archie will go to sleep that early and I am lucky to get Henry in bed for 9-9.30 most nights!! I know we have dinner at 6.30-7pm, then bath at 8pm but he never wants to go to sleep before then and he's always awake before 5 (norm manage to have in bed with me back to sleep for an hour and then up at 6). Even if we have a late night say 10.30- 11pm he is still awake at 6!!!

Oh forgot to say Mother and Baby Magazine June 09 has free ITNG book and also Cbeebies DVD as well, just picked mine up.
Mum to 2 lovely boys who keep me busy.

Sorry if this is a silly question........What do you do at booby club? And where did you find it?

I think we need to start some groups or something. Myfriends/family are all at work, and i'm getting fed up with looking at the ironing/hoovering/etc that i'm not getting done! :o

MFD- I remember my LO going through a phase around the 2 month mark where he seemed to be constantly on the boob between 6-11pm. Is he having a growth spurt? x

We all line up and compare boobies ;):D

It's just a normal mums and babies group where we sit around and chat...but the 'leaders' are trained breastfeeding counsellors and everyone there breastfeeds so you can chat about any issues, ideas, problems etc. There are so many people out there that don't breastfeed and either think I am 'strange' for wanting to do so, or think I am very 'brave' to be STILL breastfeeding at 8 weeks that it is nice to go somewhere where it is very much normal.

We have some dads come too! It is useful to get dads perspective on how he feels when wifey is solely responsible for the feeding.

So we sit around, drink coffee, chat and gossip and support each other and then we get free sandwiches and fruit courtesy of the tax payer :D

It is at my local Childrens Village (not sure what they are called eslewhere, maybe surestart centres or something) which are promoted throughout your antenatal and postnatal care here in Wolverhampton.

PS - It is actually called a 'Breastfeeding Support Group'...it's only me that calls it Booby Club :rotfl:

Yup - a continuous one since birth :D he has always been the same, wanting to just sit on the boob all evening.

TBH I think it may be an overhang from his jabs...he is still a little warm today.

It seems that there are lots of little ones awake in the evening. I think I took it so badly yesterday because I have really enjoyed getting some time for myself and hubby when Benjamin goes down at 8pm :o

:money: Just had an email from Huggies - co-op have 1/3 off all the nappy range plus half price wipes to the end of May (or whilst stocks last).

    Edit:
Humph - my nearest co-op is 12 miles away!! Oh well, hope someone can use it!

This time I'll have until 40+9 and then they'll want me to have another section. I'll see how I get on because last time I was adament I wanted to wait (both me and my brother went 2 wks over and apparently it's genetic) but Imogen would have arrived on her due date if she hadn't decided to turn the wrong way and get herself back-to-back.
I have a friend who was induced at 40+17 with her first (who was also back to back). The second and third weren't quite so late and both started naturally. Making sure you're leaning forward slightly when sitting down is supposed to help them be back to front rather than back to back.

Tests in pregnancy - re 12 week scan this is how I found out I had miscarried before Oz, so I would never miss that. But then I go private so get a scan every 3 or 4 weeks - I'm the complete opposite of Susan and Sami! I needed the reassurance of scans after my miscarriage, and I'll do the same the next time.
If you chart your BBT that would give you warning of a miscarriage.

I'm not saying you shouldn't have scans but thought it might be useful.

I believe she threatened a forum (possibly Mumsnet?) with legal action because of what people were writing about her and her books and so that forum banned discussion of her and her books.

I used her book but like Aston's Mum I used it as a guide and I didn't agree with all of it. Actually I just lent it to someone I know who is expecting a baby and asked about it and I wrote 3 A4 pages about what we did differently.
