  • It's days like this that I wish I was still breastfeeding - my little daughter has woken up absolutely loaded with cold and she's so miserable. She's just climbed into her bucket seat with her doll and quilt to go back to sleep :(

I've just been told that my bosses Sister-in-law has just lost her baby at 10 hours old, not sure why at the moment. They had conceived following IVF so was a very much wanted baby.

A really awful situation, but it has really affected me and I'm not sure why as I'd never met these people. I suppose its because it could really be anyone that this happens to.

I'd got quite annonyed with Rhys this morning as he was up so early for the second morning and I'm so tired, I'm afraid I shouted at him a bit, but now feel so dreadful because this lady would give anything to be in my position.
  • Oh no Welshlassie, that's utterly horrific :(

    Oh, that's so sad!

Just give Rhys a big hug. It's easy to be annoyed when you're tired. You'd have to be perfect to never feel irritable with your children, no matter how longed for they were.

Thanks to everyone who has advised about breastfeeding; nice to know I'm not the only "normal" person still doing it!!

  • We are not having a very successful day today. I can't seem to get things organised to get out the house, we have hee haw to eat today and #2 is being an unmitigated brat, particularly to his little sister who is loaded with cold and has no patience for being knocked flying today.

What I would give for a little energy boost.

Welcome Suzanne and blotted. Hope you'll enjoy it hear.

Choc - I second what everyone said. That's about their prejudices, not anything you've done. Just remind them you wouldn't impose your wishes on them when it came to their children. I wish I could have fed for longer, so you're doing a great job!

Welshlassie - that is the very definition of tragic. Hope you're bearing up. I understand what you mean though. I sometimes get an overactive imagination and think about terrible things happening to Imogen and get really upset, proper tears and everything, for no reason. So to have a real situation like that is so difficult. You're just empathising with them.

My friend whose party we were at on Sat was in the early stages of pregnancy (5 ish weeks) but confided she'd been having some spotting. Was keeping everything crossed, but today she's texted to say it isn't looking good and is booked for an early scan, but not til next Weds. :-( Am really hoping it will be okay.

    Right, bathtime!

Welshlassie - that is sad news. It upsets me to hear of stories like that. My husbands colleagues wife went into prem labour a couple of weeks ago at 32 weeks and they lost the baby, and that made me upset even though I don't even know them.

Lu T - your friend might be ok. I spotted often with James, sometimes heavy enough to need a pad, but he turned out fine. They never did find out what caused it. Fingers crossed for her.
