Talking of teeth - has anyones little ones got any early?

DS was still gummy at his first birthday, DD1 had her first 4 I think!?!

DS2 is now 13 weeks, and has been slobbering everywhere for the last couple of days, trying to eat her fist, and looking closely, theres a little white dot on her bottom middle gum! Is it possible?

Elijah had 1st tooth visible just short of 4 months, and the second a week or two later; then 2 more between 5-6 months, and numbers 5 and 6 in the last couple weeks (around 9 months). And he seems to be teething some more now, not sure if something's coming through.

So I think yes, 13 weeks, totally possible. Don't some babies even get born with a tooth or two?!

Feelie - Glad you are getting referred finally, DH has OCD so I have a the utmost respect for you to be coping with your baby so well, he really struggles at times! Good luck on your decisions, and I am sure whatever you decide will be the right choice for you and Toby:)

    Sami - aren't teeth a nightmare!!!!

Bruno - Glad Elijah is feeling better today:D

Update on my buggy......I love it, it is fantastic. It is sooo versatile and does everything I wanted and more. I spent nearly 2hrs playing with it (inc putting it together) putting on all the different bits and turning it every which way:D:D. It didn't come in time to use it for the trip to the doctors but I took it for a quick spin up the street and back:p. Kai's jabs went fine, he did a liitle cry but nothing much and is fast asleep on daddy at the moment.

Thanks for the tip about the TV Krystal, It should be fine as we have had our 42" hung up on the bracket for over a year, although the 50" is a fair bit heavier!! Just the new bracket to put up now in the 2nd living room (was dining room) for the 42" then I can pinch the Wii back out of the boys room;) Not sure they are going to like me for a while:rotfl:

My friend that visited yesterday was born with a tooth! her son got his first at 6weeks and had them all by about 15mths.
Chris appeared to be teething from around 12 weeks but his 1st tooth came on Christmas day when he was 11mths

Argh, lunchtime update from OH and Elijah has a 104f temp again, and has been listless and miserable/sleeping all morning. Calpol to the rescue, but I don't know if it's just teething.

Ooh Mel, I'm interested in that buggy now... How does it fold up? Is it easy enough to flick down with one hand and shove on a bus with a wriggly baby under one arm and a handful of shopping bags?
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Yep, certainly is possible! I posted a few days about Jamie getting his first on Saturday at 4.5 months! :D. He's been chomping and slobbering for ages now and his first tooth is the result.

I've been quite surprised with my treatment during this preg, I expected to come against more trouble but they have been really good - not sure if its because they're more used to people choosing how they want things to go or if its because my 1st was so straight forward but 99% of the people I have seen have been fine with my refusing tests, having private things and HB.
That's really useful to hear. I'm planning to refuse lots of tests next time (such as HIV tests cos I know I haven't done anything to be exposed, GTT cos treatment for GD doesn't make a blind bit of difference to outcomes and the test isn't good for you, 13 week scan cos I can't see any benefits when there's a 20 week scan too etc.) and OH is worried that it'll cause lots of problems and that everybody else always just has everything.

On teeth - the first tooth can be any time from birth to one year but the average is around 6 months.

  • Afternoon all - hope Elijah gets better soon...I am thinking I need to invest in a decent thermometer soon

Benjamin has 2 big red patches on his legs and lumps where the needles went in but took his injections really well. He was a little bit clingy last night so we hurried his bedtime routine (but kept all the elements in there) but he went down without too much fuss.

I breastfeed pretty much anywhere, discretely of course. I'd rather do that than have a grumpy baby - if anyone said anything I would probably lose it though.

Going back to the breastpad discussion we had a week or so ago I would advise everybody to steer clear of Sainsburys own pads. They come in a blue box with no individual packaging (which I thought was fab - I hate the fact that other brands come in their own little packs, WHY??) but the pads themselves are next to useless - they are small and the filling moves around in the pad, increasing the chances of leaking.

Feelie - keep your chin up chick! You are doing really well :A
