Mel, watch your TV... My cousins fell off the wall after he'd hung it himself and the insurance wouldn't pay out because it wasn't put up by a proper engineer...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Something is up with Elijah :( he was teethy for a couple days Friday Sat or so, didn't get his naps on Sat, then was restless Sat night, difficult Sunday, and REALLY restless Sunday night, up screaming a few times. Then today he's been off his food (solid - still keen on booby...), fragile and sensitive and just wanting to cling. This afternoon OH took his temp, it was 104!! (rectal ), gave him Calpol and infant Nurofen at once, he seemed a bit better, when I got home from work it was only 101 (and rectal is usually a bit warm, like 100, anyway?).

However he's only been in bed for an hour and is already waking up screaming and not wanting to settle :( at some stage we're going to have to panic and take him to doctor, hopefully he can cope through the night but I'm beginning to doubt it :(

Obviously you need to continue to seek medical advice as and when necessary, but I do remember DS having that sort of a temp whilst teething. I couldn't keep his temp under control, was at the GP's with him at 4pm, and the GP did a home visit at 7pm as he was so concerned! Anyway, the following day a tooth broke through and DS was so much better after that.

I hope Elijah is better soon.

Thanks for all your good wishes. No lasting injuries evident this morning. She must take after her dad as i only have to look at a sharp corner and I can feel a bruise coming. I asked her if her head was sore and she touched where she'd banged it and said, "Nope,"

Am working at home today so had better get to it. It was lovely walking her to nursery this morning and I'll be able to do the same the other way this afternoon.

Bruno - hope Elijah's night wasn't too bad?

On another note, having avoid me and my raging s3x hromones for the last few months DH has finally decided he does still fancy it (as it were) so we had fun last night and he's coming home early from work today!! Sorry if TMI but I'm not usually that bothered (or at least, not since Imogen arrived) but I've been desperate recently and he just couldn't bear the thought, so I'm taking full advantage.

My friend's mum who was my midwife for Imogen advises that "getting to it" regularly after 36 weeks can help baby arrive on time, so I've told him he could have 5 more weeks of peace if he wanted it, but after that he needs to step up to the plate! At least I know he's not just doing it out of duty at the moment...

Poor Elijah, hope he had a better night than you expected.

    Hope little Imogen ok too.

Mel, I also fancy a parent facing buggy. I'd be interested to know how you get on with yout chicco. I wouldn't need the car seat though so cd prob sell that. In our local Mothercare yesterday, they were selling ex-display pushchairs. They had a loola confort for £160 which I thought was good too, although the weight of it puts me off.

We had a better night last night with LO only waking 5 times and did one bout of 2.5 hrs!!:T

MFD- I decided against the Amby as I think its mostly for younger babies and one review said it was awkward to use with bigger babies esp when they can sit up themselves. Thanks for all your advice on it though. If/when I have another LO, I might get it then.

Yes, it's something in the ahem "love juice" that starts ripening the cervix. I think its prostaglandin? It's the same stuff they give you to induce labour if overdue. (I mean prostalandin gel rather that a dose of LJ!!)
I did a hypnobirthing course and they recommended that we should prepare the perienium by massaging it from 34 weeks using evening primrose oil as that is also high in prostaglandin and can help induce labour. It was going to be my OH's job to do this massage as I couldn't reach. He kept asking me if it was normal for men to do this to their pregnant partners!:rotfl:I convinced him that it was. Anyway, baby was born 33 weeks before he got a chance. Hopefully there will be a next time!!

    Was that TMI?

Hope the poorly babies all feel better this morning.

Has anyone got a fashion conscious toddler? I've always been able to stick any clothes on the boys and they don't care. Even now at 12 and 10, I just buy stuff and they wear it!

Charlotte is a different kettle of fish. She's only two but has to choose what items of clothing she wears and picks matching hair slides. This morning I picked a cardy up to put on her when she was leaving for my Mam's, but she insisted she wanted her fleece jumper on instead. I think boys are easier than girls now :D

Shouldn't be here as I've got masses of uni work to do. If you see me on here before lunchtime, feel free to kick me up the bum :o
Here I go again on my own....

aagh so much to read! i cant remember anything anyone was saying now except;-

bruno - i would always give the dose of nurofen and then wait a while to see if it works then if it hasnt worked try calpol a wee while later - it means you've sort of got a back up - cos if you give them both together you're completely out of options for another 4-6 hours. just a thought! and just to add my little man still goes right off solid food when he's teething - still takes boob thank goodness, and his temp can soar as well when those pesky teeth come through. Thank goodness he's only got 8 to go and i think 2 are coming at the minute.

I was at a childs birthday party on saturday and there were about 10 women there - all my age all with their own kids and they got to talking about making bottles up etc and i said i wouldnt know much as i never really made any - and EVERY woman looked at me as though i had 2 heads - not one of them breast fed and in fact they all looked at me as though it was a very strange thing to do! I can't get over in this day and age in a room of women 90% of them never even tried breastfeeding!

PS I'm not trying to start a BF/FF debate! i just couldn't believe the looks they were giving me! good job i didnt mention "oh and by the way he's 1 next week and i'm STILL feeding him !"

LuT - glad the LO is ok - what an adventurer you have there!

Feelie - my friend had the non stop eating problem with her wee one and it turned out that he was just a very sucky baby - she switched from Bf to ff due to infection probs and she thought that he missed having breasts to nuzzle on (as opposed to proper eating!). why not mention it to your HV and see what she suggests?

nad, what a shame you felt unable to mention still feeding at 1yo, despite it being a government recommendation and a completely natural thing... My sister used to tell me how wrong she thought it was feeding a baby over 6 months... I made a point of feeding Aimee in front of her as much as I could... Even when she was over 2 and we'd dropped 'out of the house' feeds... I wasn't going to let her think she was making me feel wrong or dirty for it!
