Carly, give the number in my signature a call. You'll get put through to someone trained in telephone breastfeeding support and (ideally) local to you. They should be able to help you with positioning and upping your milk supply and also know what support is available to you above and beyond the lactation clinic.
Also, don't take how much you can express and an indicator of how much milk Henry is getting, he'll be far more efficient at getting milk from you than a pump can...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... The lady also mentioned about swimwear - I really hope we get some to test :j:j
Thank you so much Sami!!
Did you get another saying they'll send something in the next week? Yippeee - i like freebies - Thanks Sami, :j:j
I'm having a good day all round - I got a mystery shopper assignment for the 'posh' hairdressers up the road - wash cut an blow, to be done on 23rd May - which is also the day I happen to be going to a wedding reception! (If i can cope with leaving Violet - i've not done it yet!)
Welcome Carly - and congrats on Henry. There's a lot of people here who've had trouble with feeding - Feelie is going through it at the moment. I'm sure you'll get lots of help.:beer:0 -

I'm not usually a complainer but now that I have all this time on my hands  I think I might turn into one :rotfl:
Ours has loads of those trolleys - stored as far away as possible from the mum/baby parking spaces! But i'm a bit dangerous pushing one because I can't see over the top when the car seat is in. And i'm not short, 5'7" - god help anyone shorter!
Someone at school has just recommended cutting a super absorbent sanitary towel in two, and using that at breast pads. I can't decide if thats wierd or ingenious!:beer:0 -
Poor Aimee's in the wars today... She slipped on the decking at school and has a huge bruise on her hip... Then went out to play on her seesaw and banged her head on the middle pole as she was getting off... So she came and sat down to eat a pear... Bit her tongue and made it bleed... Then went back out to play on her seesaw and the wind blew one of her swings up and it hit her on the head!A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... sounds like it wasnt just my little man being a big grump yesterday! he screamed solidly for 6 hours until we walked into the doctors and he broke out into a massive grin, before that we tried going for a walk, tried going for a drive, tried feeding, tried finger sucking, dummy, nothing worked, he just wanted to scream i think, i was starting to consider adoption by the end of it :rotfl:
however he did exhaust himself so much that he slept from 5pm to 11pm and then again til 7am after a feed so i had the best nights sleep ever! i'm not counting my chickens though, not expecting him to sleep through again, mind i wont complain if he does!! but we woke up this morning to big gummy smiles so all is forgiven.
the little tubster now weighs 11lb 7oz and the doctor decided to take it upon herself to warn me that while on the FF chart he is doing well, on the new BF chart he is going to end up overweight  and i should probably be looking to cut out a feed, to which i told her that if she wants to cut out a feed she can come round and deal with the consequences and i will be sticking to the chart designed for the way he is fed thank you very much! according to the chart on the box of what they should be eating for their age he should be on 180ml feeds but he doesnt finish 150ml yet so i dont know how she can say he is eating too much! she also refused to look into what i think is his reflux either, just told me to keep him sat upright after a feed and tilt his bed slightly, even though i told her we already do these things and its still happeningi'm going to make another appointment with a different doctor, but leaving it a couple of days for arguments sake.
took him for his jabs today, poor little man didnt take kindly at all and was a bleeder, his daddy had to hold him cos i chickened out and left the roomthe calpol is on standby... being a bad mummy at the moment cos he has been asleep in his car seat since we left the doctors but i dont want to wake him up and take him out in case the screaming starts up again, especially after the jabs

Emlou, I think that they are mostly concerned and treat babies that have such severe reflux that they loose weight. At 11 lb7 they are probably not too concerned at the moment. Do you have a sling to carry him in. Like the babybjorn style one. Its good to keep them upright and to soothe them. Although, you'd need to watch your back as he's a big boy x0

Whoever asked about babes getting teeth early - Oz had his first 2 teeth at about 3 months, another 2 not long after and has had the 12 he has now from about 3 months ago i think so when he was 9 months - and now he's getting his eye teeth, he seems to get them all in twos. though he did get his 4 doubles altogether. I think thats quite early.
i really caught the sun today - face all brown and arms are quite sensitive - didnt put any cream on so my own fault really. Did put cream on Oz's face and tried to keep a hat on him but thats quite difficult. I just keep the rest of him all covered - much easier than worrying about slathering cream everywhere.
quick question - when they bring in the breast fed baby growth charts - they arent using them for all babies are they? cos using them for formlua fed babies is surely as stupid as using ff chart for bf babies?DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY

i'd love it if i could use a sling lwcus but my back isnt great at the best of times, i darent try one to be honest. its a shame cos i'd love to carry him round in it, i think i could get on with a lot more round the house if i did cos he's really clingy, i only get a few minutes of rushing round like a headless chicken if i put him down awake if that before he cries! is a mother of a 8 week old who has a clean tidy house a myth?! :rotfl:
nadnad, i thought that about the charts, but i think judging by the way the doctor i saw yesterday was talking they will probably use it as another way to encourage mothers to BF, by telling them that their babies will get overweight if they FF. i'm still really annoyed. i'm glad it doesnt matter which doctor i see at my surgery because they all share patients, i definitely wont be seeing her again!Mummy to

That's really useful to hear. I'm planning to refuse lots of tests next time (such as HIV tests cos I know I haven't done anything to be exposed, GTT cos treatment for GD doesn't make a blind bit of difference to outcomes and the test isn't good for you, 13 week scan cos I can't see any benefits when there's a 20 week scan too etc.) and OH is worried that it'll cause lots of problems and that everybody else always just has everything.
On teeth - the first tooth can be any time from birth to one year but the average is around 6 months.
Not that this is a benefit of a 13 week scan at all, as it was quite horrible, but it is how I found out I'd miscarried the pregnancy I had before Tom, and I have a friend who has found out about miscarriages like this three times. I'd rather know at 13 weeks than wait and find out later. I didn't have any symptoms at all with Tom, hardly put on any weight until later and it was only the scan that reassured me. i would have been a nervous wreck waiting until 20 weeks!0
