Going back to the breastpad discussion we had a week or so ago I would advise everybody to steer clear of Sainsburys own pads. They come in a blue box with no individual packaging (which I thought was fab - I hate the fact that other brands come in their own little packs, WHY??) but the pads themselves are next to useless - they are small and the filling moves around in the pad, increasing the chances of leaking.
When I had Alice (which admittedly was two years ago) the Avent ones weren't individually packaged. The pack I had was a box with two lots inside wrapped in plastic (a bit like when you buy a two pack of biscuits). I can't vouch for how good the actual pads are though as I never needed them.
Any question, comment or opinion is not intended to be criticism of anyone else.

MFD - the asda own ones (blue box, little angels?) are not individually wrapped and i'm finding them good. Still have leakage in the morning, but not from pad failure, more pad movement! I'm thinking of superglueing them to my boobies! (Actually not a bad idea - i'm sure i've got some t!t tape upstairs).

  • LOL - I haven't tried the Avent or the Asda ones obviously!!

I am boycotting Asda at the moment because the massive one nearby never has any trolleys that you can put the car seat on top of. I have complained ;) and they are looking into it.

I'm not usually a complainer but now that I have all this time on my hands  I think I might turn into one :rotfl:

Tit tape sounds like a good idea to me.

Susan - never needing breastpads!!! You lucky, lucky lady :D

I never thought of people needing those trolleys - I always just had Alice in the sling. The sling also saved having to use socks the first winter as she was always in it when she was outdoors.

I never really thought about how useful it was not to need them - just that it saved a lot of money. I have a friend who recommends Lilypadz - she used them with her third and found it much better than regular breastpads. Also I've known a few people online swear by fleecy washable ones - apparently they're much more comfortable than disposables.

Hi, just thought I'd say hi as I'm moving over from the pregnancy board to this one - although not sure how much time i'll have to come online. My LO - Henry - was born 30th April. I'm trying to breastfeed but having trouble because my milk supply is soooo low. I'm expressing every 2 ish hours and get 15-20ml in 24hrs.
Henry will try to breastfeed but gets frustrated at the lack of milk so we "top up"/substitute with formula, which breaks my heart. I've lost count of the times i've cried over feeling so useless. It does explain why my breasts didnt grow much during pregnancy....anyone else had this problem and any advice?? AFAIK i'm eating, drinking and sleeping enough.
My midwife is reffering me to a lactation clinic but i wont get in for a few weeks due to the waiting list of ppl having bf probs!!

    Afternoon all!
We had Ryan weighed today and he is now 10lb 11oz! he's put on 1.5lb in 2 weeks.
We are not overfeeding him though, so think he's just a big boy!
