Sami-B please can you link me to you preggie pic, too lazy to go back and find it. Thanks, i'd be interested to see.
Can anyone tell me when the Asda event ends please and how much the nappies are reduced. Thanks.
Having troubles getting JAck to sleep at lunchtime now, he still needs it as he's obviously tired, but it can take a good hour for him to go and then he's sleeping longer into the afternoon than i'd like. He only has an hour, he'd like more, but I prefer him tired at bedtime!! He can go without one but not every day and TBH I still need him to have one. Anyone else with a 2.5yr old experiencing this.
He's still in nappies too, quite a lot of kids his age we know are now out of them during the day, but he's not ready. He can go for a wee if i put him on the toilet, but he doesn't tell me or just says no if asked. He denies a poo despite his nappy or pants stinking. I know i'm being impatient but I was seriously hoping he'd be done by know, i'm so fed up of changing two bottoms everyday. Oh well he'll get there.0 -

I bought some of the new magnum ice creams on my tesco trip (they were on an introductory offer... of course I would never do such a thing if they weren't on offer ~whistles innocently) and was looking forward to eating one when I got home. But one of my yoghurt pot lids had split on hte way home, so I'm having to eat that instead. It is very nice, but not quite the same!
(oh and easter eggs are still on offer in the seasonal aisle as well... I will loose this baby weight eventually!)Isabella Molly born 14th January 2009

Oh, and on the subject of weaning - we were freezing pureed veg before Izzy was even born! But that was because it came off our allotment and we couldn't keep up with eating it all at thr time. We've been using it ourselves in the meantime too, so once we start weaning we will give it a try. I froze it in bendy ice-cube trays, so it's a good size to get out one portion for baby or several for me!
I think we are going to start weaning from 17 weeks, as she is raring to go! HV said it's fine to start from 17 weeks, but only baby rice and fruit and veg until 6 months. Will just start off with a few spoonfulls and then follow her lead as to how fast we progress from there I thinkI'm kind of glad she is ready now, as I will have to go back to work at 8 months and it will be so much easier if she is happy with solids by then!
The other struggle at the moment is gettiong her to drink from a cup. (I've given up trying a bottle!) Anyone got any tips, other than keep trying? We've got a tomee tippee (I think) "first cup" without a valve or anything. I'm goig to see if she will just drink from it like a beaker, but no luck on that front anyway. Is there any point me trying out different types of cups? I don't know if that would be wasting my money really... No huge rush for the moment, so I'm just going to offer a cup once in a while. She will need to get the hang of it by September though!Isabella Molly born 14th January 2009

Just started weaning LO last week at 6 months. I didn't feel that he was ready to wean much sooner. Just started on pureed veg and fruit. I bought lided freezer trays from www.peainapod.co.uk He had some breakfast this morning of baby rice and pear. Do you think this will make him sleep better rather than the hour and a half stints he's been doing!!:o
re drinking from a cup- my lo wouldn't take bottle so i gave him a little doidy cup and he manages just fine. I've tried a beaker but ijust thought he'll have to learn to drink from cup sooner or later anyway.0 -
lwcus, nothing I ever tried with Aimee got her sleeping better... She never needed daytime naps... 20mins was the longest she'd go and she dropped them before she was 2... I was so jealous of my friend and her 4hr napping baby! Even now at 5, it doesn't matter what time she goes to bed, she'll still be up before 7... My sister tried to make out I was mean by putting her to bed at 7 during school holidays... But then her children have always slept 12hrs at night...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... Weaning didn't really make much difference to be honest, I think when they want to sleep they'll sleepWhich doesn't help, sorry. What time do you put him to pbed at night just out of curiosity? I've recently been putting Elliot down a lot earlier then I used to, and it's actually helped him sleep better i think as he was over tired to begin with so we had a fight on our hands!
