I was gutted when I applied for Child Benefit and I had to fold Benjamins birth certificate in half to send it off :o I am a bit anal about things like that!
Having said that, having a baby had rid me of my worries about only hanging the washing out with matching pegs...now I just stick it out as fast as I can!!
I was the same!! I cleverly have an extra one to keep pristine though - not sure why it will ever matter tho:confused::p
I match pegs too:o luckily for my sanity we can't peg out living next to a pub so I only peg out every now n then when I take stuff to my mums for a good ol blow on the line :D
Sami-B please can you link me to you preggie pic, too lazy to go back and find it. Thanks, i'd be interested to see.

Can anyone tell me when the Asda event ends please and how much the nappies are reduced. Thanks.

Having troubles getting JAck to sleep at lunchtime now, he still needs it as he's obviously tired, but it can take a good hour for him to go and then he's sleeping longer into the afternoon than i'd like. He only has an hour, he'd like more, but I prefer him tired at bedtime!! He can go without one but not every day and TBH I still need him to have one. Anyone else with a 2.5yr old experiencing this.

He's still in nappies too, quite a lot of kids his age we know are now out of them during the day, but he's not ready. He can go for a wee if i put him on the toilet, but he doesn't tell me or just says no if asked. He denies a poo despite his nappy or pants stinking. I know i'm being impatient but I was seriously hoping he'd be done by know, i'm so fed up of changing two bottoms everyday. Oh well he'll get there.
    Pic is here http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=21036231&postcount=3867

Asda event is officially 1 week i think but they usually are still selling it off even cheaper for a week or so afterwards

Chris is now 2yrs 3mths and sleep pattern has gone out of the window!! he'll go for days sleeping from 9ish pm until 7am with no naps then maybe go to bed at a decent hour like 7 or 8pm still up at 7am and then last night was 9:46pm and he slept until 9am and had a 2.5hr nap at lunch:confused: god knows what time he'll go tonight!
Don't get me started on nappies! he doesn't want to wear a nappy but doesn't want to use a potty or the toilet and clearly has no idea if/when he needs a wee or poop at this rate I'll be training the 2 of them together in about 2 yrs time!!

The other struggle at the moment is gettiong her to drink from a cup. (I've given up trying a bottle!) Anyone got any tips, other than keep trying? We've got a tomee tippee (I think) "first cup" without a valve or anything. I'm goig to see if she will just drink from it like a beaker, but no luck on that front anyway. Is there any point me trying out different types of cups? I don't know if that would be wasting my money really... No huge rush for the moment, so I'm just going to offer a cup once in a while. She will need to get the hang of it by September though!
Have you tried Mam teats on a bottle? My friend found it was the only one that her girls would accept after BFing and one or 2 of the ladies on here have found the same.
I found with Chris that one day he just 'got' the cup but he still refuses to have warmed milk from anything but a bottle *sigh*

Ladybird you could try one of the cups with a straw although she might be a little young for those - the one i got was from 6 months but Oz managed it at about 5 months i think.

I have loads of those little 25p pots that Weezl uses. I use them for the kids pack lunches, they are great for raisins, carrot sticks, grapes etc..... I never really thought about them for weaning, but they will be perfect!!!!!

Weezl - not sure how long ago you sent forms to child benefit but I was told it can take 3wks when I did mine, although it actually came back in about 10days. Hope you are all doing ok.......

Iwcus - my friend was told to start weaning her baby at 17wks and to start with baby rice, but to give it at the evening feed to help fill him up so he sleeps longer....It seems to have worked for her??

    :rotfl: @ Mel's post

While we're talking about cups etc I managed to find one that didn't cost the earth and did what I wanted :T:j
its the Avent magic sportster it does have a valve but not a strong one (you can remove it but it would leak) I had a go of it before giving it to Chris and you only suck as much as with a 'grown up' sports cap bottle I was about £3 in tesco.

Sami, recommended the MAM teat for my LO, it was by far the best one out of the dozen I tried. I'm sure he would have got the hang of it if I had persevered.

Work has asked me to work a day at end of May. He'll be 7 1/2 months by then, I'm hoping I can get away with just giving him 3 breast feeds a day by then, morning, 2pm and night. The 2pm feed might be a problem if I'm in work (and hoping he'll take a cup feed from DH).
