ooh on the subject of swimsuits I got one a while back from tesco that had tummy sucking-in-ness in it - was quite good too ;)

Oohh, I need one of those! I bought a Tankini as I thought the shorts on it would hide my bum more but the top seems to ride up and show my flabby stomach - its really not a good look!

    Honestly Choc, I do

I have never really been interested in baby massage, but might consider it just for something to get out of the house and do!

    Mel x

Tom aways had his best sleeps after baby massage. It was worth going just for that!

I know you will prob not feel like it (as I'm the same) but trust me little shorts will make ur bum n thighs look bigger than they are, you're much better with them cut more like knickers.
I was really impressed with the tesco suit coz it had the tummy thing and had sort of ruffles over it too so any lumps were disguised and it had shaped cup bits for your boobs I think it cost somewhere around £10-15 so pretty good for the added exrtas. Although its times like this I wish we were like the Victorians with everything covered :rotfl:

Mel - I'd recomend baby massage even if you don't use it at home I found the class really relaxing, we had the lights down low and some twinkly lights and soft music on while we did it and Chris was always nice and calm afterwards :D

:rotfl: we had a set of twins in our class so the HV was really pleased that she could use a real baby instead of the dolly

I'm so glad this thread goes at a slower pace than the preg. one - at least I have some chance of keeping up!

Finally got some time to post today. DS is at playscheme, DD1 is upstairs practising her dance for a competition later today and DD2 is happily bouncing in her chair, so I might get 10 minutes to myself!

She's been much more settled this week, going up to bed around 9 and sleeping for between 5 and 6 hours before needing feeding again. I really should learn to go to bed when she does to take advantage of the sleep!

Mel: I'm going to pop into the surestart for a list of what they do. HV promised me one, but she's not been seen since. I'm not going to my nearest one, just incase my skanky neighbour goes with her little one - not that i'm a snob or anything! :D But the other one is only 15 minutes walk away.

I agree, the shorts style tankini bottoms just make my bum and hips look even wider!

Question: Do we have to wait til baby has had first three lots of needles before they can go swimming? DD1 had her two weeks swimming course at school before the hols, so we want to go before she forgets what she learnt!

    And now my worry.
DS is going on his first school holiday on Monday, and i'm dreading it . I'll be standing on the doorstep crying come Monday morning. He's in the first year of big school, a school for children with complex learning difficulties, which he has, along with severe Autism.
He's only going to North Wales, about 40 miles away from home. But it Monday to Friday and he's never been away from his mummy before! I'm hoping he'll love it and won't give me a second thought - but it doesn't stop me being a soft worried mummy! :o

Why have I never seen these?, ruffles are really good and the bra bit sounds good too. Have you worn it to the pool? please tell me there will be people there who will look worse than I will :o

Natasha has always been very good and very calm since birth so I didnt really notice any difference after the baby massage but its definatley worth going as at the very least it gets you out and about.

I really should be painting rather than sitting here now Tasha is asleep but I just dont have the motivation after being up late finishing the kitchen off.

    ooh lots of posts today!
We did baby sign at surestart, I didn't bother going back for the toddler class tho coz I didn't take to the teacher and it got a bit confusing because Chris loves Mr Tumble and the class wasn't makaton it was another sign lang  Chris still does some signs but I wasn't very good at remembering to use them :o we like makaton better also because my mum knows if as she uses it for a lil boy at her school who has downs

Am I the only one that hates present giving occasions now they have children??
I hate that we get lots of stuff that I don't like/want/need but feel obliged to keep because it was a gift :o I know that sounds ungrateful but if I buy a gift I like to make sure its appropriate but obviously my family don't do that  'kissy nanny' always buys toys that are for a child at least a yr older than Chris is or some vile outfit that looks like its from the 70's
other nanny get something from a really cheap shop that I usually don't let Chris play with because it looks cheap and or doesn't have a kite mark and then theres the ones who always buy something for him to 'grow into' He only just fits in clothes for his age now so theres no chance he'll ever fit a winter coast bought to grow into actually in winter - it'll fit perfectly mid summer when its useless :p

Sorry just annoys me! I'm soo bah humbug about these things

Yes It's one of my pet hates too...I like presents to be a surprise to the recipient but that doesn't mean I couldn't give a few hints and tips along the way. Unfortunately both my ex and current OH see this as being too demanding so we are often left recieving rubbish gifts that won't be used.

Anyway I have a method....if I can get to the gift in time and it something I think LO will never use (and I found with ds1 quite frequently the ONLY use some toys had was on the first occasion they came out of the box) then I will sequester to the present box but if I can I will take it back to the shop and get something more appropriate or even better a gift card so I can buy stuff as needed.

If as often happens the giver makes LO open the pressie I will put it aside if not age appropriate until LO is older.

In the extreme event the pressie gets opened and it is not better to store until older I will let it have toy box space but if it doesn't get used it gets given away or binned (prob about 6 mths later) when hopefully the gift giver has moved on and forgotten about it.

However I have to say there have been occasions when a toy has been received by my LO's a lot more enthusiastically than I imagined and so as long as the toy gets played with I'm happy really.

Oh and sami your rellies must have a great memory because I find I get away with this over and over again no one ever remembers the toy they gave my Lo's after more than 6 mths. I did have the seasonal inappropriate gift too though and what was worse returned it to get a bigger size but waited too late and it was in the sale! So we got £4.00 for a whole winter outfit and ended up with a summery baby gro type thing instead. lol.

It never crossed my mind that shorts would make you look worse! What about cellulite? isnt it more obvious?

No, babies don't need their jabs first you can just take them swimming as soon as you are ready.. But remember they lose heat quickly so probably won't be in the water longer than 20mins to start with... Don't know about your DD1 but I know there's no way I could drag Aimee out of the pool before 2hrs... So will def have to take someone with us when baby arrives...

Had words with Aimee twice so far today... The first time because she wouldn't eat her biscuit because it was broken and said she was going to get another so I moved the biscuit tin... She had a screaming tantrum about that... Then I asked her to take her crayons out and put them away, she started to answer me back so I repeated what I asked and got a 'blah blah blah' off her... She's 5 not 15, what's going on?!!
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.
