We just moved so Natasha wouldnt be near skanky neighbours, im not a snob either just didnt want her learning to swear and spit before she was two

Hmm, I suspect I may be the skanky neighbours where I live. Today I am wearing really grotty trackie bottoms, have tied up my hair to hide the fact that I haven't washed it and there are toys scattered all over the living room.

No one even looks at you at the swimming baths anyway, we just think they are and are paranoid about our bits we hate! lol.

The cossies with tummy control area are fab, but sadly the bra bit doesn't work for me as i'm pear shaped... so to fit my hips, the bra bit is always too big!

Ha ha! Me, who's going to a father away Surestart to avoid the Clampits next door is sitting here in dressing gown and socks with hair scraped back. But my children are clean and presentable and don't smell of wee. :rotfl:

Mrs Clampit next door has her hair scraped back to hide the fact that it hasn't been washed in the 6 years i've lived here. :rotfl:

:D - re easter pressies I guess I'm completely different as my mum hasn't got around to buying LO an Easter pressie and I told her not to bother.

As far as I'm concerned the money is better spent on ds1 who will appreciate a pressie more than DS2. He of course will willingly eat LOADS of chocolate (but mummy helps him out there) but really doesn't need it and to be honest he has way too many toys already as we have hand me downs from ds1 (I'm a bit of a hoarder lol) so even an easter pressie isn't that welcome (although I never said that ;) I can be tactful sometimes).

SB and Redmel I imagine your respective rellies were trying to buy the most appropriate gift for each child rather than thinking about keeping things fair. A towel sounds very useful but bit of a strange easter pressie though ..I suppose it had a piccy of a bunny on it or something?

Nope, just a plain blue beach towel from Tesco but we are going to Spain in June so I can see their logic now.

  • Oh, my Dad and his wife don't do fair. My sister's kids probably got laptops or something and when my step-sister has her baby it will probably get a car or a golden goose or something! I could fill the page with times when they've made DD feel like a second class citizen.

:rotfl:Sorry, Choc, but this really made me chuckle! :o

This reminded me of OH's first Christmas as part of my family- bless him I thought he was gonna wet himself with excitement!!:rotfl:
My mum LOVES Christmas and everyone gets a stocking filled with lots of little presents, a satsuma and some shiny pennies too ;) plus their main present and we all just dig in, paper flies everywhere and then we all show each other what we got and have a play with them. At OH's family they take it in turns to open a present each - bboooorrrring :p I was most miffed when I wasn't allowed to rip straight into my gifts the first year and had to wait for everyone else to open something before I got my 2nd :(

My baby signing class was free through sure start so I can't complain about getting my monies-worth!

Thats like my Mums house! :D. Nothing much has changed since we were children :rotfl:.

At the inlaws we are sitting for ages before gifts are even mentioned! ;).

LOL, I certainly am a slummy mummy on more occasions than a yummy one! :rotfl:

And who said this thread moves slowly??? It's taken me hours to catch up!! Ok, school hols so not much internet time with two kiddies running around!

SB, just wanted to say regarding the pressies that I agree it was due to Jamie's age, I'm sure there's nothing else to it! :) He's not exactly the right age for Easter eggs and DVDs yet, is he, so if he had the same as the others it would have been a bit weird? It kinda makes sense to me... :)

I had to laugh when I was buying our boys' eggs, and DS1 got a humongous one, and DS2 a much much smaller one. :o Having said that, DS2 did not mind in the slightest as he hardly knew what was going on, plus we all share our eggs anyway. :D

I would imagine in a couple of years time though we'll have to make sure they're getting exactly the same size/value pressies, as that's what I've heard from friends with bigger children.
