Maybe she enjoys the comfort of a cuddle while she drinks her milk? Does she have it in a bottle or a cup now? You could maybe transfer it to a cup but still feed it to her/cuddle her while she drinks it herself... I'm sure by 3 she'll be drinking out of normal cups with no lids so it shouldn't be a problemA very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Ella what about the sports type cup with the straw? Oz has one of those and loves holding it himself. It would maybe be something new for her and she might like to be a "big girl" and do it herself.DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY

Sorry to hear about your cousin ella. James had double pneumonia when he was 2 and he was in hospital for a week. He was very poorly at first and slept a lot, but the IV antibiotics were really good and by about day 3, he was playing with toys in his bed, then next day he was up and going to the playroom.
It did take him a long time to fully recover afterwards and he was quite weak for some time. He seemed to catch every cold bug going and they would be worse and take a longer time to shake off than the rest of us. He missed a lot of nursery and reception years being off with heavy colds, but he's been fine since then.
Sorry if this sounds negative, but just thought you should be aware so you can all plan how you can help her best.
My husband was at the hospital about his broken hand this morning. They said it's healing nicely so he won't need an operation or a cast on it. He's pleased as he was scared about being in plaster for his holidays in May!Here I go again on my own....0 -
She is still having it in a bottle. We have no problems with water out of cups and she drinks from a beaker herself with no help but its just the milk she doesnt want to drink from a cup, or even a bottle, herself.
I honestly know someone whose daughter has a baby bottle for drinks at 3 years old :heart: I love my gorgeous little girl0 -
His pattern changes all the time. This week he has been sleeping 45 mins in the morning followed by a 2hr sleep over lunch and another 45 min nap in the afternoon. We put him down at say 7:30ish but he wakes up as he thinks its just a nap.So we try and resettle him a few times. He'll then wake up at 11:00 ish and can be anything between every 40 mins and 2 hrs then for the rest of the night. He has done one night of sleeping til 4am. I've never let him cry, I wouldn't but its getting beyond now as I'm having less support from DH as his mum is ill and he's under so much stress at work (risk of redundency).
Just hope he starts sleeping better soon (even every 2hrs would be fine with me!!) as I'm like a zombie!!
Do you have a night time routine? you maybe need to distinguish more between night and day so he realises its a long sleep time. Now with the light evenings we bring oz to the bottom part of the house about an hour before bed and we pull all the curtains down there so its dark, he still plays with his dad for about 40 mins but gently winding him down, then he gets a bath and plays some more, then i feed him in the dark and then i say sleepy time sleepy boy all quiet and whispery and put him down with as little fuss as possible.
Have you ever tried putting him down earlier? say 7pm? sometimes when Oz is overtired he wakes up more.
I'm trying to think of everything as i know how tough this is. I even remember saying that every 2 hours would be a lot easier as well!DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY

Ella - Chris was the same, it didn't bother me and I decided it wasn't worth fighting over he now insists on holding his bottle himself - started doing that from about 20mths
I'm just using up our formula and I'm going to attempt to get him to have a hot milky drink like horlicks or ovaltine from a cup before baby arrives but if I don't I'm not fussed his teeth are nice n straight and he sits with us quietly while having the bottle so I think he'll stop when he's ready0 -
What age are the straw type cups from, around 12 months? They do sound interesting as im not really wanting to use no spill and need something different to her free flow cups as we have tried them. I think a trip to Tesco is the answer!
I feel she needs to stop now but just out of interest at what age did you stop baby bottles? I love my gorgeous little girl0 -

With ds1 about 18 mths (I think) probably about the same time he stopped having a bedtime bottle in his cot (BAD MOTHER lol) - it was the done thing in those days.
DS2 4 mths - he went onto bf full time and stopped knowing how to bottle feed which I found out in the middle of the night at around 9 mths when I was keen to introduce a bottle again! (bad night lol) he just couldn't drink from it and I ended up buying many sorts of cup before finding a way he could drink (the first sort being a straw).MSE PARENT CLUB MEMBER.ds1 nov 1997ds2 nov 2007:jFirst DDFirst DD born in june:beer:.0 -
Agutka - defintely sounds like a night terror type thing to me, and I don't think he's too young for those. Certainly not a case of any mental problem, I wouldn't think, you hypochondriac!!!0

Oz has been using his since 6 months. Its a tesco own brand one - but there are loads.
He never took a bottle. I think "they" recommend stopping bottles at around 12 months. Whoever "they" are!DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY
