We have nice criossants ready for my breakfast in bed (she says, hopefully!). Mum's card arrived yesterday (she called to let me know) and we need to arrange to see MIL but as I've reminded DH twice already I think I'll leave that to him to arrange!
He has at least bought me the magnolia I was supposed to get last Mothers Day. Apparently my present this year is a pot for it!! I'm not complaining. I've always wanted a magnolia and it's got lots of lovely buds on it so I can't wait for it to flower.
I used to take Imogen out in sleepsuits all the time. Isn't that what those all-in-1 bear suits are for?!MSE Parent Club Member #1Yummy slummy mummy club member50% slummy, 50% mummy, 100% proudImogen born Boxing Day 2006Alex born 13 July 20090 -
Just to clarify, I didn't aim anything at anyone... It's not for me to tell people how to look after their own children... I just think a lot of pressure is put on new parents to get their babies into routines as soon as possible and get their old life back... But you can't have your old life back... You have a baby!A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Hello, MFD! Going to get comfy with pizza and have a read of your BS!
xx0 -
OMG they can't half talk over on that pregnancy thread, it's a wonder I ever kept up with it.....My baby pic is on page 58 and BS on page 59...
They have already clocked up another 50 pages since then:eek:
I doubt very much I will get anything for Mothers Day:( Well the boys have made me cards at school, which I love receiving, but dh won't have bothered. In fact it makes me a little sad to think that he obviously doesn't think I am a deserving of ever being treated or surprised with something nice. He just doesn't think it matters, but to me it does:rolleyes: He has taken a week off but has probably spent more time faffing around doing his motorbike training, applying for a student account and looking for a motorbike than he has spent with me and Kai, or the boys for that matter.
Mel xUnless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
Nothing is going to get better. It's not.0 -
Hi Mel - OH had 4 weeks of, and has been back at work for 2 - i was dreading it! Him being home for 4 weeks spoilt me (and Violet) a bit. But its been ok, baby has been dressed most mornings, and i've even had make up and straightened hair a couple of times!!
I think its just men in general (apart from the perfect ones out there) who are carp at occasions! My OH has just nipped out to Asda to get cards etc. I've just moaned at him that he'll end up with the last dogeared unwanted cards because he's so carp!!
He does it all the time - mad bu66er does his christmas shopping xmas eve - resulting in him running around most of the north west a few years ago 'cos the nearest shops had sold out of what I wanted.
(and while he was off work for 4 weeks, I was quite tempted to post his Xbox through the freshly polished windscreen of his car). :rotfl:
And breathe............:beer:0 -
Aww, Mel, DH might just surprise you. Maybe its just me that asks 'have you got me a card yet' about a dozen times the week before?
:D. Hope you have a lovely day tomorrow.

i think your missing the point of a routine,
im a great believer of getting into a routine as it worked so well with my 2, and i know that other mums like beccles swear by it, im not on about a set in stone minute by minute military job, but a basic idea of when things happen and a set bedtime that the baby learns to recognise,
bath, bottle & bed means its night time, no fuss means its night time, mummy not being silly and blowing raspberrys when she picks me up means its night time and night time means its time for the longer sleep....
your babies may only be a few weeks old, but they arent stupid, they know a set up when they see one!
but its not to get your old life back! your old life doesnt exsist anymore!
its so you can start your new life... and in that life it would be nice if everyone got enough sleep to see them through the next day,
if DS was still waking in the night for a feed then i would be feeding him, but he doesnt and *I* believe thats because he learnt early on that night time was for sleeping...
i told my OH and DD that for mothers day i want homemade cheesecake and daffodils
its nice, my mum is away this weekend so i actually get the whole day to myself!0 -

Hehe! It was just the days when I couldn't get Violet off my boobie long enough for a wee/shower/minute to myself - but OH found the time to polish his precious car or play at shooting people! It's not fair!!
I know its not the Xbox's fault, or the car - they are innocent!:beer:0
