Oh Lu, i hope you have better day tomorrow. I had a bit of a struggle getting Izzy to sleep tonight - lots of hammering and swearing going on in the kitchen. We now only have the cupboard under the sink still in there (plus the white goods)... so tomorrow they will hopefuly get the plumbing/electrics done and all the new cupboards etc can go in! (they're still working on it, so by bedtime there will be nothing at all in there. We moved here december 06, and have been intending to replace the kitchen since then, so it will be a relief getting it done.
I am taking Izzy to the zoo for the first time tomorrow, as it is my friends birthday (the one who keeps trying to teach her times tables!) but also partly to get both of us out of the way of the chaos! I doubt she will be very interested in the small animals, but I might be able to get her to focus on the giraffes and rhinos. There will be lots of new people for her to get to know anyway. And lots of fresh airIsabella Molly born 14th January 2009

And a little controversial note... Babies need feeding in the night... Their bodies need the fuel and in the first few months their tummies aren't big enough to hold all the fuel they need... I would feel better about a baby waking for a feed or 2 than one that slept straight through at weeks old...
if this is directed at me, I have to say I wasnt going to wake either of them for a night time feed they didnt want, if your baby doesnt wake in the night then they obviously want sleep more than food at that point,
both of my children fed during the night for the first few weeks then made it very clear they were not that bothered and could take it or leave it
i never refused either of them a feed they wanted in order to get some extra sleep.0 -

Well, I thought I might migrate over here now, as although I am still lurking on the pregnancy thread I don't feel I have much to add anymore:p
So Kai is now 5 days old, he is not a great sleeper and likes to be held...a lot...in fact he sleeps if he is in my arms, but if I put him down he wakes up quite quickly:rolleyes:
The midwife came today to do his heel !!!!!, and is coming next week to sign us off. I have been very teary today, not sure if it baby blues as I never had this with the last two...I am probably just overtired!

Hi Mel - nice of you to join us! :T
How is your little man? Another spoilt one who likes to be held! - but its ok, its a good thing, Krystal (:staradmin ) told me!What do the other two think of him?
I've managed to put Violet down, after holding her til she fell asleep - and me and my big two are having an indian takeaway night! (OH is out working so I thought i'd spoil us) - i think i'll be wild and have a glass of wine too
I also got teary after about a week - but i think it was tiredness - the visitors had gone, and it was back to real life, trying to feed the other kids while feeding Violet and feeling incredibly tired. I avoided the baby blues this time, although I did get it on about day three with the first two.:beer:0 -
Hello r.mac and mel!! Good to see you on the other side
.

Oh dear, I think I'd better send my two back to the stork! :rotfl: .
Both have slept through the night from a couple of months old and been put down to sleep awake to settle themselves.
Diff'rent strokes for different folks.

Erin is up once in the night for feeding but she feeds mregular from around 6/7 to 10 every night. she wakes at 4 and feed and i feed her before i get up in the morning, gives me time to wake up and she settles until i get myself and the troops ready!!
i have a spoilt one here who like to be held and cuddled however when i really need to do something i usually put her in the sling, have left her a few times to cry but i hate it and feel sick doing it. i had a few days and still do when i feel misrable but its usually when im trying to be super woman and get the house and kids sorted out.
well i was a bad mummy tonight i had to leave her for the first time to go and cuddle another baby. my breast pump doesnt work???? and i had to get a carton of aptamil for daddy to feed her, he said she took it no prob(why did this make me sad?) but she has had terrible wind and nappies since i got home? she is not phased at all was hoping she missed me lol!!What's for you won't go past you0 -
