oh lovely name cazcoob i really like that.
well my name causes all sorts of confusion my name (nadine) is actually my second name always has been - my dad and brother are the same they get called by their second name. So when it comes to doctors, well basically anything official it causes problems. And every year at school on the first day of a new class the teacher would read out the role call and say my first (not nice!) name to the sniggers of the class and the embarrassment of me!
i blame my dad he did it that way - he originally wanted us all the have the same initials as him  "DMR" but in the end only my brother is that cos he couldnt think of any girls names he liked that began with a D or M. Thank goodness cos it causes all sorts of confusion for my brother and him.DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY

That's a nice name cazcoob
My Dad is known by his middle name. He was born just after an elderly relative died, and my grandparents were pressured to call him Robert after the relative, even though they couldn't stand the name. He's been known by his middle name all his life, apart from at the doctors where the doctor insists on calling him BobHere I go again on my own....0 -

Erin is a lovely name.
My Grandad's middle name is the same as his surname and sometimes when he has filled forms in, people have crossed out his middle name because they think he just wrote his surname in the first names section by mistake. He's been known by his middle name all his life, apart from at the doctors where the doctor insists on calling him BobAny question, comment or opinion is not intended to be criticism of anyone else.2 Samuel 12:23 Romans 8:28 Psalm 30:5

I'm Donna Michelle
We chose Rhys partly because it was Welsh and partly because it couldn't be shortened.0 -
i really dont mind shortening names - oscar gets Oz and Ozzie, and his second name is Charlie not Charles. My sister get sam or sammie, she's samantha, I call my husband just "d".DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY

Caz, that's a lovely name
DH's Gran was known by her middle name, but no-one knew till we found her birth certificate after she died! She must have hated her first name loads not to even tell her kids that she had it :rotfl: .
I never had a middle name. My parents always said it took them too long to decide on a first name. I kept my maiden name as my middle name when we got married though, as it is one that can be either. So AT LAST I have a middle initial. I've always wanted one, and it always seemed terribly unfair when I was little and I didn't have one but everyone else did!Isabella Molly born 14th January 2009

Oh, we suffered from too much excitement yesterday! Went to my cousins house to meet her new baby (just a bit older thasn Izzy) and introduce Izzy to them all and to my grandad who came along too. Poor girl stayed awake the whole time we were there, and was exhausted by the time we got home. Too much new things to look at, new toys and a noisy toddler to keep her awake.
We got home at 5pm and she was hungry, but fell asleep before she'd ate properly, and I couldn't wake her up, then she woke up about 2 hours later and did the same. Rinse and repeat until 7am this morning! Luckily I went to sleep with her at about 9, or I would be nackered today.
This morning we went to sing nursery rhymes at the library for half an hour, and she's been asleep all afternoon too. I don't want her to sleep so much she doesn't sleep tonight, but I expect she is still catching up from yesterday, so I'm going to wait and let her wake up when she is ready. I may live to regret this decisionIsabella Molly born 14th January 2009

Quite often we just call our daughter by her initial - H. Not sure how it started but it has stuck! I call my husband by his (our, lol) surname, more often that not.0 -

DH and DS2 share an initial and DH keeps opening DS2's letters. He was very confused to be invited to University Open Days, for example, although I'd have known by looking at the envelope that they were for DS2. Anyway, DH doesn't have a middle name either, so I keep telling DS2 that he ought to use his initial if he wants to keep his post private, but he won't. I suppose he only heard it used when he was in trouble ...Signature removed for peace of mind0
