and aren't you getting tax credits? you still qualify for wtc if you are on maternity leave even if you do not get smp. this is one of the reasons why it is a good idea to take maternity leave rather than quit if you aren't sure about returning to the same job after the baby - plus it keeeps your options open.

On a different note - does anyone have/has seen one of those hat/hood scarf things from Jojo Maman Bebe? They look cute in the catalogue, but do they work - as in does hat stay on head and does scarf cover the back of neck well. And cotton or lambswool?

One of my friends makes something similar for less than half the price in different fleeces.
If you are on facebook i'll pm you the group?

    Thanks JS-O-H :D

It's nice to know they seem good as it's a fair amount of cash to spend on a stairgate.

I've already had to take one sort back as it was rubbish. (one of those travel gates).

I've been trying to find out how to attach a pic on here - then I could show you ours. If someone else could talk me through it...?:p

We also got another set of hooks, and can close Ds in a room if we are carrying stuff up and down the stairs.

  • Hi
I was wondering if any other new mums could answer this?
I have six week old baby and for the past 2 weeks have had a light period, it did disappear for a few days but its back with cramps and a sore back.
I had the lochia bleed as well but it dwindled away and bamm 4 weeks on the dot a period, it's not heavy but annoying, so different from my normal period, is this the case after giving birth?
    Anybody else have same/similar experiences?
    thanks

Are you breast or bottle feeding as this can have a bearing?

I'm breastfeeding and 5 weeks after giving birth my periods started and have been regular ever since!! Hence why they say you can't use breastfeeding as a form of contraception!!
