  • Tom loves curry and chilli too as did my two older children, who will basically eat more or less anything now!
  • visit to the pub was fine last night - loads of little ones there :) Grandad had a great time, and had a lovely surprise because we had all kept it secret that BIL and family were coming up. Nephew had grown loads since we saw him last (mid december). I'm convinced he is about a foot taller, but my memory is probably exaggerating somewhat! (he is 9!)

and also we eat a lot of stir frys and home made currys etc and i dont know how he would be able to eat that.

Charlotte grew up on stuff like that. I didn't really bother with baby food at all and she just had whatever we had.

We went to Turkey when she was a year old, and I only used jars of baby food on the journey there and back, and on a day trip as she got hungry before we got to the restaurant for lunch! The rest of the time she ate Turkish food and loved it

Pleased you had a good night ladybirdintheuk

    Nadnad: What about pizza?
you can make it yourself using a basic scone recipe for the base or use breakfast muffins/pitta bread/totillas and put what ever you want to introduce to Oz on them :)
if you ask on the OS board (or maybe someone here knows) but I think if you made a scone base you could make a batch of mini ones using a scone cutter to get a nice size and then maybe freeze the dough or part cook them and freeze
or just make a big one at lunch time and you eat the rest yourself :D

  • Thanks everyone for all of your replies and advice, it seems that 10 is the new 14 from what everyone's said to me! It all came to a head yesterday, I was so teary I couldn't speak to anyone without crying, went to work and just sat at my desk and cried (I work in a school so it wasn't great) Some of my issues are so trivial but all put together have almost pushed me over the edge!

Well his dad and step-mum have stepped in (the most authorative he's ever been) and made him pack a bag and go and stay with them for a while. That of course is upsetting me too, I really don't want to be without him but I hope he's going to learn his lesson. There will be no youth or after school clubs while he's there. I have manged to keep a brave face and tell him that that selfish boy will never be welcome in my house again and I can't wait until my sweet, helpful, thoughtful son comes back.

So fingers crossed this will work, I think if he misses me and realises what he's got then hopefully he won't take it for granted so much and we canmove on and be happy again!!

It's hard notenoughcash, but I hope it works out with you. You need to develop a really thick skin and remember when they are calling you names and claiming you are ruining their life etc., they don't really mean it.

I feel really sick with nerves this morning. It's derby and I really hope Sunderland stuff Newcastle this afternoon.

tried Oz on pasta today and he took about 3 bits, but its a start. also gave him some sticks of cheese which he ate a little of and some baby sweetcorn which he didnt like the feel of cos he dropped it like it had bitten him lol. i read somewhere they have to try things 17 times before they get a taste for it!! so i'll perservere.

yesterday OH gave him his tea while i had a lovely bath. he came in sheepishly to tell me baby had "accidently"slurped a whole packet of strawberry and apple puree (you know those Ellas organic ones) Oz got hold of it and sucked it straight from the pouch. I was expecting him to have a sore tummy last night but he didnt so it wasnt a disaster. I asked OH to explain how Oz "accidently" got hold of it and then managed to eat the whole thing without OH noticing - he finally admitted that he felt bad taking it off baby cos he was enjoying it

That's so funny! OH is exactly like that with DD, but claims it's just cos she's his little princess. Glad to know it's the same with boys.

Need some advice on car seats please. OH has a Focus which we do all our family trips in. We have a car seat for Imogen which was given to us and is now about 7/8 yrs old. Would have been top of the range at the time, think it's a Britax.

Problem is it has quite a large base and that means the car seat is high up so Imogen's feet press on the back of the passenger seat, even with it pulled very far forward.

Imogen's 2 and approx 2 stone. We're thinking of getting another seat as if she were lower down she would have more room (due to the angle of the seat in front). Any ideas? Not really sure where to start without traipsing rounf Halfords, M'care etc and I haven't got the energy for that right now! Any advice gratefully received.

BTW Kiddicare have extended their sale so if anyone was thinking of making a purchase, now would be good (and don't forget the cashback :money: )

    Hi Lu,
Unfortunatelymy free trial on which? has expired, but I seem to recall the maxi cosi ones all do well. Have also been sent this link about rear facing car seats... it is a recent report that look specifically at the difference of RF and FF seats and the accident data available for this age group.
    http://www.anec.eu/attachments/ANEC-R&T-2008-TRAF-003.pdf

There has been a campaign for new regs about rear facing car seats in the UK.

Information of where to find them:
