"Actually I have posted a number of good spots to eat which I thought this what this forum was about. "
I meant did you have nothing to say on Pier 36's stance. Clearly you don't want to get into that but some of us thought it was a valid discussion in terms of people's enjoyment of restaurants.0 -
As a man who loves his grub I have to say that I have found the best Chinese restaurant in the world (well thats what I think) it is in Holywood and it is called China Rendezvous Service is quick staff are very friendly and the food is to die for.
Also agree with others about Springsteens if you love your steak.
Also for a good Indian then would head to The Ganges0 -
Benedicts on Bradbury Place haven't had a bad meal there yet and they do beat the clock 5.30 til 7.30 as well.0

The steaks and sweet chilli potatoes are really nice in Benedicts.0

I would like to recommend a new Chinese buffet restaurant that has opened on Bradbury Place in Belfast (just up from Bishop's).
The Foo Kin (I'm serious!) is £8 a head and the food is great. The decor is modern but the backless benches hint that you're supposed to grab a plate, stuff your face with some very tasty dishes and then hit the road rather than linger for long. Service doesn't come into it, obviously, but the staff are friendly and the manager takes a keen interest in making sure everything is OK.
Students pay just £5 a head at lunchtime by the way.
Hopefully this place will go the distance!0 -
Have to agree with JONC I was there yesterday and it was excellent. I am a real coonisour of chinese (and have the belly to prove it). Not only was the food about the best I EVER tasted but it was excellent value for money. Staff could not be friendlier. Long may it last.0

Has anyone else been to Kaya (used to be the Castle Arms) in Bangor?
I went there last Friday night for the first time and had a great evening. We all chose from the Bistro menu (there is also an a la carte), and none of us were disappointed.........good food, good service and good prices.
Downstairs I noticed some advertisements.......
-Meal for two: Two main courses and a bottle of wine £20
-Buy your wine from our off-licence (immediately next door) and we don't charge corkage.
I'll definitely be going back.

Another one for Bangor
The AVA have a meal deal on mon-fri, if you are in before 7, you can have 2 steak dinners and a bottle of wine for £20 per couple! great value and great food!0 -
Out on the town last night and after the recommendations on this board went to the Foo Kin. I have to agree with all the previous comments. Great food. Great staff. They also have a set menu but the all-you-can-eat buffet is the one to go for. You have to pre-pay for it and the restaurant closes at 10pm. It's completely non-smoking as well.
Just to update the prices though, for buffet lunch it's £6/head (£5 for students as Jon_C previously mentioned). In the evening it's £9/head (£8 students)
And while I'm on a rant, I'll second Natzdance's comments about the AVA in Bangor.
Another good one, imho, in Bangor is Rioja. Top of High Street. Not licensed but BYO.0 -
2 New ones to add to the list.
Barnaby's in Ballyclare Excellent food and loads of it. All main courses are £6.45 which is great value but they also do Beat the Clock Mon- Fri 5- 6:30 meaning they are even cheaper. See http://www.barnabysrestaurant.com/ for menu.
Also discovered Ginger Tree Donegall Pass Belfast yesterday. Absoloutly supermeal at lunch time for £8.50. This includeed appitizer, Starter and Mains which came with Spring Roll and Fruit Salad as accompiments. Well worth trying. I had Japanesse Curry and it is nicer than Chinese or Indian0
