I had a bad accident last December on some black ice down a country lane (this road is never gritted) & ended up in the ditch, the 4x4 affords me a feeling of safety on the country lanes I use to get to work. Easier for when they are flooded too, as they frequently are.

Personally, I took the 'chavs/lowlifes' comments sarcastic/joking too due to the smileys used. While I think talking about the 4k holidays is tactless (esp on an mse forum) and 'top of the range handbags' pointless boasting, I don't think MrsE has been directly insulting people.

Certain people seem to be on a bit of a witch-hunt tonight :rolleyes:

Oh, that makes it ok then. You're all safe in your 4x4, but god help the person you crash into next time. By the way, does your 4x4 still have bull bars? They're great for hitting kids with. :rolleyes:

What I said was we DON'T do X, Y, Z (drink, smoke, gamble, go-out, socialise ect) what we choose to spend our money on is food & ONE good holiday per year.

I made out a list of things we don't do, in order to be able to spend a bit extra on food.

Valid point there I think. Everyone has their vices, but I have little sympathy for 'skint' people who spend a fortune on cigs/alcohol/lottery tickets (and that includes my OH)

It was a joke about the Primark & that other shop mentioned, I was trying to be humourous.

She openly admitted to calling Schamansky a low life chav thug. She also called him a racist and both of us sexist. The sexism thing was ironic in itself in that she was guilty of sexism in her assumption that she was talking to two men (I am actually female).

No witchhunt here. I just hate people who attack others, then try to play to play the innocent when they get attacked back.


I don't agree that her having an accident is reason enough to get a 4x4. I would say she needs to slow down and watch the road more.
