When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well
Go on, shoot me, I've not been to bed yet!!!
Been so busy last few days:rolleyes: Actually Sunday was just another fun family day:D One of my darling nieces invited us over for a BBQ which was lovely. Wonderful food ( cooked by her lovely OH ) and good wine, what more can a girl ask?
Charlies mum, you looked fantastic ( and not just for a fifty-something:D ) and the bride was pretty OK too:rotfl: Glad it all went well:T :T
I actually visited the gym again this morning:o Some people recognised me:rotfl:
Happy Birthday Kaatlady:bdaycake: Hope it's a good one!!!
Bethebee, so glad DH seems OK:D :T
We've had an e-mail from the Canadian branch to say that the pregnancy is progressing quite well, and that the due date has been moved forward 1 week. That's OK we've added to the stash to be sent soon:D
I suppose I should get to bed, we've a full day tomorrow. Dh and I are going to see the Chelsea match tomorrow / today ( Essex girl, I expect your support:D ) We'll have a nice meal in an Italian restaurant before the match.
Hope you all have good days,
CM xx
You never get a second chance to make a first impression.

Morning Churchie :hello: and all followers and lurkers
I'm here again [strike]bright[/strike] and early, having waved the intrepid explorer off over the Pennines again.
Kaat, hope it goes ok at the hospital & happy birthday :bdaycake:
Beemuzed, don't over do it.
Floss, we're regulars at Nunzios and Ocean Palacehope you feel better today
Hester, any sign of a lodger for the empty room, or have you got the Vacancies notice at the window.
Pen-Pin, did you clear the air with your helper and are you back and forth to hospital this week?
Scuzz, any decisions on the job in Spain.
Smoky, hope the poorly toe is improving and the weather holds out for the weekend.
My dress fitting went ok, although if I could summon up a pair of boobs it would look better Mioliere & Pippa, get kntting.
I've got some mince to make a bolognaise, so that'll go into the slow cooker soon and my fruit cake muffins are delicious  even mum likes them
Like Hester, I'm waiting for an engineer to call today at work. I'm not always there (you might have noticed) so I ask for them to ring my mobile 15 minutes before arrival or when they are leaving the job before. Usually I get a call to say they have arrived or they don't appear and when I query it they say oh we called and there was no one there
At £68 call out and £68 per hour it's not cheap.....rant over.
Love and hugs to those in need and those caring for poorly partners, poorly parents and poorly offspring. :grouphug:
Not seen Silvercharming for a few days either, hope Dave is ok.

Morning Churchmouse and Whatatwit, and all that follow.
Ugh, another early start and it's dark. Just another day at work planned, although there'll be food shopping tonight rather than tomorrow night as the OH is working on something tomorrow night. I get to go to mum's for tea, so that's me not cooking (yay!). Tired today. I'm looking forward to getting home so I can have a mini rest before bed
Hope everyone has a good day. ((((hugs)))) to those in need.

Morning all
It's so flaming dark here, hate getting up for an early when it's like this. Today is my wedding anniversay. Didn't make it to Nando's yesterday as DS and I felt so crap. Ended up buying OH a takeaway for his birthday and some beer. Hope to go out today.
JAYWARD glad to hear your OH has still got a job.
DAZI congratulations.
Off to work in a mo.
Have a great day all.

Morning.
It's dark is'nt it? I will go down and make the sandwiches soon and some for myself as I am on a course today. It's a cheapo course run by social services.
A whole 2 days of course and no lunch provided!!! Pants is'nt it? I would not go except I need to complete it to get a further course that I do want.
Missus car goes for the MOT today, so that's more expense I could do without.
I also have to get 4 tyres for my car within the next few weeks. Looks like the credit card will be making a debt appearance. Bummer.
Well folks, have a nice day.....NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -
Good morning all! I've just read yesterday's thread very very quickly to try and catch up. I couldn't come back on here after my first post because we've been decorating my office so my poor computer was under a dustsheet all day. I kept crawling under the sheet to check on emails but I couldn't get to the keyboard - it felt horrid being cut off from MSE like that! Still, the office looks lovely but it took all evening to put the stuff back, especially my books - I have thousands of them! DH is always having to make bookcases to hold them all! I still have to reorganise all the files and folders but it's nearly back to normal.
Charlie'sMum - you looked gorgeous at the wedding. What a lovely couple, too. Best wishes to them for a happy life together.
Well, DH is not back to work until tomorrow so we're going shopping today; we both need new slippers, how exciting is that?! I still have some birthday book tokens to spend, too - more books! One of my ambitions is to have a library room with floor-to-ceiling shelves and one of those ladders on wheels, a big squashy chair, a reading lamp and a music system that only opera and classical is allowed to be played on! One day - if I win the lotto (which I don't do very often so that's not likely!).
(((Hugs))) to Smoky, PenPin, Jayward, Candygirl's Mum and Dad, Essex-girl's Dad, Beth's DH (I'm so glad he's on the mend), Jo's DH - I know there are a lot of others but the names have escaped me. (((Hugs))) to everyone.
Churchmouse - :hello: :hello: :hello:
Welcome to any newbies I've missed!
I had to attend the asthma clinic yesterday afternoon - I'm not really asthmatic but have what the nurse calls an 'unexplained cough' which gets really bad if I have a cold or the flu. I get a bit wheezy every now and again. I hadn't been to the clinic for a while because I've not felt ill but the nurse phoned me to see if I wanted the flu jab or the one for pneumonia or both. I opted for the pneumonia one because it offers lifelong protection. She also gave me some more inhalers to get me through the winter. Having had three colds since September last year, I'm not planning on having any more - I don't know if anyone remembers, but last Christmas I had the mother of all colds and I'd hate to go through that again.
I'm getting my Christmas head on now that DS1's birthday ha been and gone; I still have DIL1's birthday in November and DS2's in December to organise pressies for, but will go through my present store and start writing up my lists! I hope I haven't panicked anyone but it's only three months away! It's my Mum's birthday at the end of September and I'm going to stay with her for a few days in October. I wanted to go for her birthday but I'm looking after DGS and DGD after school for a few days at the end of this month because DIL is on a field trip (she's a geography teacher) so I'll collect them and their Dad will pick them up later.
I made some tomato and lentil soup in the Remoska yesterday and it was gorgeous, really tasty, and there was loads left over for the freezer. I've been making soup most days so DH never knows what he's having for lunch. He'll be back to sandwiches once he's back at work tomorrow! I also made stovies and that was delicious, too. I would hate to go back to life before the Remoska because I really resent putting the oven on now!
Anyway, considering I only posted once yesterday, I think I've more than made up for it in this post!
See you later and have a great day, everyone!

Morning peeps
it`s nice to see that the smileys are back :j
Dazi - great news about the job, hope that you enjoy it!
Jayward - good news about your OH`s job, i know from experience how worrying that situation can be.
Taplady - your story about the postman made me smile, it reminded me of a few years ago before we moved house, there was a giant spider on the wall on the stairs and i daren`t go past it to get up to bed in case it leapt onto mei went walking down the street to find a neighbour who was still up (it was past 11pm) and begged him to come and get the spider for me, his wife was in stitches but confessed she couldn`t have gone upstairs past it either.:D
Gena - It sounds as if your company policy if people are off ill is very similar to the one that we have, i don`t agree with it either .
This morning i woke on the sofa at 4am, the last thing that i remember is trying to stay awake to watch the end of silent witness so i still don`t know whodunnit!
The wm, dw & bm are on and Mr SD can turn them all off when they are finished as i`m at w*rk.
Sausage onion and garlic patties with spicy wedges and rattatouille for dinner tonight and only 4 more sleeps to our hols :j
I double checked with the rellies who are staying at our house to feed our cat that everything is still ok so i`m in a good mood today.:D
Off for a cuppa so have a wonderful day everyone!
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0 -
