27th February. Almost there.... we still have to organise a honeymoon and finish paying for everything. Eeeek.

If anyone knows a mobile hairdresser who doesn't mind starting at 8:30am and is in or around Liverpool can you please let me know? All I want is curls and a band put in, but I'm having conniptions at the hairdresser who'll only start at 9am. I need half an hour to get into my dress and need to put on makeup and leave by 10:30 at the very, very latest.

HI Sugar Spun, I just booked Icon Procreatives for mine http://www.iconprocreatives.com/index.php
Not sure what price you are looking at but if you email her she can give you a quote and check if she is available, I have been dealing with Andrea and so far I am very impressed with them.

    Hey all,
I've been reading this board for a few weeks now as got engaged in Nov. Looking around some venues this weekend, so hopefully we'll have the date sorted soon. Looking like March or April in 2010 (better get back on the diet!) :rotfl:
Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!
  • Can I be added to your list of brides to be please? I'm getting married on 17th October 2009.

So far I've booked photographer, car, venue, bought things to make my favours, decided on what my invites will be like as I'm making them myself, sorted and ordered the mens suits, ordered wedding rings and I've pretty much decided on my dress and the bridesmaid dresses. Oh and the honeymoon is booked! Phew sounds like I've done lots but theres still a fair bit to go!

First of all I would like to say congrats to all other bride to be's :)
I had a budget for my dress of roughly £600 but hoping i could maybe get a good deal. I wanted something really plain, simple and elegant. Then I went to a shop......... I didn't feel "special" in the simple dresses and for the money i would be paying I want to have the wow factor. So I tried on vintage dresses and fell in love with an Ian Stuart "Danube" dress. Its absolutely gorgeous and I fell in love with it, until I caught a glimpse of the price tag £1800. My OH has said if i love it that much then I should go for it. As much as I would love to, the price just really disturbs me! I've seen 2 second hand ones a size 8 for £500 and a size 12 for £700 (I'm a petite 10 so may get into a size 8 as dresses tend to be made for taller people). These second hand dresses seem fine, but not the colour, the ones for sale are ivory but the one i love is grey/silver/bluey taffeta.

What am I going to do, i've tried loads of dresses on and none of them have made me feel anywhere near the same!!

I know exactly what you mean! I wanted something rather simple and my budget was £650, but nothing felt right and I started to feel that I would never find THE dress....then I went to a local bridal shop and tried on an Ian Stuart...that was it. I was in love! I ended up spending £1400 but have got 9 months interest free credit card so will pay it off over the next 9 months :)
Fiance was adamant that if I felt that it was the one I should have it which made me feel a little bit better :)

I have chosen my colour scheme - Black and Ivory and am searching through ebay for ideas for table decorations etc! Any ideas you all have would be gratefully recieved!

Our colour scheme is the same.
We are thinking ivory tablecloths with black gems sprinkled on tables.
Cake will be 3 tier iced with ivory with black and ivory rose topper and black gems around each tier.
Hoping to have ivory chair covers with big black rose on back.

I am however starting to feel bewildered by it all and am very scared that we will not have everything doen in time!

We are getting married in Las Vegas on 09th April.

We will be having a party back home on the 18th April and we have our venue provisionally booked. But there just seems so much to do still!!
