Thanks Krystal... we are already prepared for the gap between pill and TTC!
We are superfantasticplanners!
We already discussed though, that if we do have a happy accident in that 2 months, that's no problem. We were just having the 2 months for my cycle to get itself back together...
Anyway, the short version is, baby first, then wedding!0 -
I've contacted the registrars office in Falkirk to get an information pack about how to go about everything as we live in the UK and know nothing about Scottish wedding procedures!
I've had a brief look on t'internets at dresses, but as I don't want anything OTT and it needs to be purple/indigo with a little bit of silver, I'm struggling to find anything suitable. Well, apart from those which come from China on ebay.
So much planning, so little time...0 -
Well we have had a complete change of plans so after thinking i have nearly everything sorted and can rest until next year i have to start all over again from scratch.
Few weekends back me and OH started chatting about wedding things and he explained that the thought of 100 friends and family was too doughting(sp!) so could we have a smaller do - sure i dont mind works out cheaper too. He then goes on to say well atch he doesn't want any one there apart from family and the wedding party - ah thats going to be tricky as half the save the date cards already gone out. He then explains he is not sure the venue is right if we are only having around 30 ppl insted of the 100 we started out with. He is also not sure if hes happy with a buffett. So i have explained to him i couldnt care less what happens on the day as long as i get to marry him thats the important part and if he wants to do it at the local registar office thats fine with me i just need him to make his mind up and stick to it.
So am starting from scratch now i have a list of what he wants and doesn't want. A new guest list and food ideas one good thing about the less guests is cheaper food bill! lol.
The time table of the day looks like this now
2pm wedding
3pm photos
5pm food and cake and speaches
9pm onwards ppl leave
Does that sound alright because we both decided we dont really want a reception as such more that we just want to get married then head to a hotel or something. Is it going to be rude to ask ppl to leave? how do i word it without offending someone.
Sorry for the long post hope someone has some ideas for me on what i can do with the timings.0 -

I had a 2pm wedding and if it's a civil ceremony it's unlikely to last more than half an hour at the very most - our photos were straight after the ceremony and then we ate at 4.30 this allowed a bit of time for relocation from the ceremony at the hall to the hotel in the grounds. We had 34 people which also cut down the time for the photos as it was easier for the photographer to organise.

Hi everyone, and huge congratulations to our brides for 2009 and beyond
I am already on the list from the old thread, but the wedding is now exactly one year away :eek: so I think it's time to knuckle down and start doing some real planning!! The 6 months since we got engaged have flown by and I'm sure the next 12 will go even quicker. We have booked the following so far:
* ceremony venue
* reception venue
* photographer
We're not having a huge wedding, probably around 40 during the day, a few more for drinks in the evening. I am currenly undecided as to whether to include a buffet in the evening. We are getting married at 3pm in a lovely old building, so I'm hoping to spend a decent amount of time on the pictures to really get the benefit of it. It will then take around 30 minutes to get to the reception venue, so I can't see us eating any earlier than 5pm. If the meal, speeches, cake etc goes on til around 7, will people really want a buffet in the evening?What are other people getting married in the late afternoon doing about food for the evening?
I'm making my own invitations/save the date cards, so plan to get on with putting some of those together over the coming weekends as I'm not particularly crafty so they will be slow going!You can do anything, make anything, dream anything. If you change the world, the world will change.0 -
Hi BigBird, I get married at 2pm followed by a wedding breakfast. We probably won't have a buffet in the evening as I think people won't really be hungry so soon after. We are probably not having an evening do after either.0

We had a meal during the day as well as a buffet in the evening and as there were only a few extra guests it hardly got touched.Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended

Congrats and good luck to everyone who has been added and will be added!!
My wedding is now booked for 22nd august 2009
So far we have booked our day and night venue, which has turned out to be a great deal! My mam is making the invites etc, an uncle is making the cake, my friend is a florist!!
I have a problem though and any advice would be a great help!
I had a budget for my dress of roughly £600 but hoping i could maybe get a good deal. I wanted something really plain, simple and elegant. Then I went to a shop......... I didn't feel "special" in the simple dresses and for the money i would be paying I want to have the wow factor. So I tried on vintage dresses and fell in love with an Ian Stuart "Danube" dress. Its absolutely gorgeous and I fell in love with it, until I caught a glimpse of the price tag £1800. My OH has said if i love it that much then I should go for it. As much as I would love to, the price just really disturbs me! I've seen 2 second hand ones a size 8 for £500 and a size 12 for £700 (I'm a petite 10 so may get into a size 8 as dresses tend to be made for taller people). These second hand dresses seem fine, but not the colour, the ones for sale are ivory but the one i love is grey/silver/bluey taffeta.
What am I going to do, i've tried loads of dresses on and none of them have made me feel anywhere near the same!!Mortgage only debt since 2013.... Happy days.
