I assume that wearing glasses will not affect this biometric thingy.....only problem is my glasses are the transitions type so will presumably have to be certain they are not dark, and the flashes could darken them
  • it depends on the booth you use, if they are tinted then its a no-go, if they are clear at the time you have it taken- then as long as the frame of the glasses doesnt obstruct your eye socket then they will be acceptable. With regard to the glare, it really does depend on the booth you use, some of the rubbish ones will leave a glare others wont, if there is a glare it can still be accepted as long as the glare doesnt cover your eyes

Are digital photos okay? Can you take them with your own digital camera and print them at home? Is there a minimum acceptable quality?
  • yes digital photos are acceptable but they do have to be of a resolution which is 1200 dpi (I think) but they still have to follow the other attributes such as plain light background, correct size. To be honest, digital photos are a bit of a pain in the !!!!!! because the majority we get are crap quality even though people tell us that the resolution matches that on the sheet but it physically looks horrendous. My advice would be to look at it honestly and objectively, see how clear it is before sending them in (also the paper quality has restrictions but I cant remember them, they are on the form) logging off now guys, any more questions an ill be on tomorrow- nite all

    Hi

Can you tell me if I was to send off today for a renewal, and it gets processed after the fees increase, Will they back date (the fees) as the date on the form or will they just charge the increased passport fees regardless.

Ps. I have read parts of this thread but not every post havnt found the reason why they are increasing the fees to so much.

    Thanks in advance :)

  • Bridgwater post office have run out of forms... There's a notice saying they'll get more next week!

Still, was a stupid idea to close the original main post office and relocate to inside fourboys newsagent in a shopping centre and not re-employ the existing trained staff anyway...

Surely you mean only 5 days left plus the three days grace.

Or am I understanding things incorrectly?
  • Hi jammybunn
If a first passport is applied for and there is a problem with paperwork or photo would they then look for the increased fee to be paid instead ?
