..but, I've used MM 5 times now without any problems at all.
Remember, people are always quicker to complain than praise, so maybe you should give them a try and see.
Admittedly though, they offer pretty crap prices, and take up to 5 weeks to turn around your orderThe first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter0 -
MM must be onto a good thing, take lets say a 'specialist' genre CD like Kraftwerk The Mix, MM offer 30p, search e-stocks on eBay the CD is £10.0

I'd be keeping Krafwerk0 -
I was a bit dubious about using MM because of the mixed reviews but as I couldn't find anywhere else that would be worth selling some old games and cds I thought I would give it ago.
I sent them a box of stuff and got an email to tell me it had arrived about a week later and then another within the week to say they would be sending my cheque which would take approx a week to arrive which hopefully should be next week. It is for the amount they originally said it would be for as well.
I know they pay peanuts and can take a few weeks to receive money but as you know up front what you are going to get you can't really complain.
I would use them again.0 -

Just to update that I received my cheque today.0 -
Hi guys,
Have used MusicMagpie a couple of times now and have been quiet happy with the service.
Some cd's/dvd's appear to have a very poor retail value, so I just put them back on my shelf.
One thing I am sure you will be interested to discover is box sets. I was one putting some c'ds through there pricing system and was offered £3 for a box set of six. Not being happy with the price I was about to place them back on my cd shelf when I had an idea. I took the box back off the shelf and removed one of the cd's. On the back was a seperate barcode. So I scanned that and was offered £3. Suffice to say and scanned the rest of them in separately and all paid £3.
Regards,
Pete0 -
Just came across this topic.
I have just put in the barcode for 389 items onto MM and got offered £289, so less then £1 an item which is crap, but it's a bulk job and the cd's are just here covering dust since I only use Spotify these days, no need for CD's.
Bit worried about all the bad reviews tho, bet they try and shaft me somehow even though every disc is fine and every case is too, at worse some cases have sticker marks on them but will try and get rid of them.
Courier picking it up Thursday, sucks that it can take 3 weeks to get cheque, might even be longer for me considering the amount they have to go through!
But if it does go through fine then I will recommend the service and it was easy to do and would rather get rid in one bulk lot, just got this funny feeling I am not going to get the amount they offered....0 -
Has anyone had any problems with their send label barcode?
Yesterday for the first time I used this service, I wanted to take the parcel myself to one of the stores that accept them. I had the label with the barcode on their email so I printed it and I went to the store but they couldn't scan the label as the barcode has a gap in the middle.. hmm I had to take my parcel back:mad:
has anyone had this problem with their labels? I've emailed them and I'm waiting for their reply0 -
Most of the time you get what they offer, unless the CD is unplayable/
Is it just me or has the average price they offer gone down recently?
I reckon in a few months they will move away from sending cheques out and instead pay by BACS payment as it will probably be cheaper for them, also ditching Royal Mail completely for that "collect plus" courier service0 -

Found Music Magpie to be generally very good. Had a few problems with the items being picked up by the couriers once or twice and you have to wait in all day. However, you can elect to send the items off yourself or leave them in a safe area if you can't be in. They've never rejected any of my CDs/DVDs once in quality checking, although I wouldn't expect them to since I always send them very good quality merchandise. You have to be a bit patient, but the cheque duly arrives eventually without fuss - well that has been my experience anyway.
I agree with you that they do seem to be reducing the prices for some CDs recently. CDs that would have merited an offer of around £2/£3 are now down to as little as 30p! I just keep those and sell them in other ways.
Just hoping it doesn't go the way of Turn Into Cash Ltd. They have still to pay me for some of my CDs - and the liquidators are being difficult.0
