not a bad place to get rid of the cds that wont sell anywhere else..0 -
They are zoverstocks on play and amazon - they seem to have every single thing I go to list actually so its easy to find them. They are selling a lot though so the negs and neutrals are not effecting them a lotNot been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/1550

Hi
I've used swapshop.co.uk to sell items in the same way that music magpie do. They seem to offer more but you have to build up a balance before you can cash out. It's not hard to reach the £50 balance if you are selling a couple of Video Games or DVD Box Sets.0 -
I guess it isnt too easy to hit £50 if selling a whole load - i just notice both musicmagpie and swapshop have a minimum number of items you need to sell to them before being able to use them.
Ive just sold a couple of my completed games on tradeyourgames.co.uk - i was also given a voucher code that gave me an extra 5% trade-in credit in the basket for those games - use the code EXTRATRADE.
Not sure if it will only work with people who have been using the site? Would be good if others tried it, more trade-in isnt bad at all!0 -
Hi all,
newbie here, though longtime receiver of weekly email!
Have traded some DVDs via musicmagpie, just wondering about CDs. My other half is worried about this one! We have loads of CDs (like 2-300) and all are now copied onto a harddrive music system & the CDs are just taking up space in the roofspace. He's concerned about the legality of it all ie if we keep the recordings, do we need to also have the original?
Have to say not something I considered but i do wonder if it's just his way of getting to keep the CDs - he's a big music fan!
Ta for any thoughts!0 -

I think you've already done the illegal bit by copying them
If (and that's a big if) you were taken to court you would probably be in bigger trouble by selling them than if you'd kept the original collection and only copied them for convenience.

Cant believe that they advertise that its ok to just copy your cds and then send them the originals - you need to own the originals by law to be able to keep the digital versions!!
Be careful about all this - if selling your cds, you dont have a backup copy of the songs - as it should onlybe a back up copy of cds you still own!0 -
I saw some reviews of Music Mapie and was put off at first, but all around, I think it is the best way to sell CDs, especially if you're trying to shift a large collection. I listed £28 CDs and got £10.27 for them. At first I was a bit put out that the majority of CDs (i.e. non box set/ compilation, rarer music) only got 30p each. However, I then went to the effort of listing CDs individually on Ebay. After taking photos of them, writing descriptions for those that did not have an autoflll CD description, packing, posting and seller fees, I ended up with a net profit of about £10 for 30 Cds (a couple of these were singles/EPs however, that Music Magpie will not accept). After going through all the above for just 30 CDs on Ebay, I would never do it again. Music Magpie is just quick and easy and you don't have to worry about actually making a loss by underestimating postage on Ebay . Obviously, if you have a rare CD, it may be worth listing on Ebay instead. I would advise just selling job lots on Ebay for collection from home, as you can get shafted on the postage as a seller.0
