Music Magpie: new quick way to sell unwanted CDs

When Music Magpie first started, they were quite good, the cheques used to arrive within around 7 days, however as time has gone on their cheque posting ability appears to have diminished.
My last order (over 100 CDs) was sent in the beginning of Feb 2010, it is now March over a month later and still no cheque! I have rung them twice and received various excuses but still no joy.
I would be wary of using this company at the moment as it looks as though they are having problems keeping up with their customer payments schedule. It would be interesting to find out if other people were suffering from the same problem? If so, alarm bells should be ringing!0 -

just had £143.30 paid into my bank rom CEX this morning, payment was sent on the 31st March (but bank hols etc...) should of been £151.70 but they didnt want 2 of the games so sent them back and charged me the postage by the looks of it! cost me about £15 all together on postage so £128.30 made from making OH sell his old games.Well Chuffed! will definatly be using them again to get rid of his DVDS too!Had my amazing little girlie 08/12/2007 - 11 days late! 9lbs 3oz

If you don't want to risk sending things, you can take the you your nearest CEX store instead: http://www.cex.co.uk/stores/0 -
thankyou verybigchris. I didnt know you could do that, do they give you the same price as quoted online? that will save on the postage! do they give you the cash there and then?0

I have just looked on their website and it says they do not accept any goods brought in by hand. I am confused!0
-
lisa - they mean by hand to their web address or internet depot -
You can take it in to a local store..
also worth checking out www.tradeyourgames.co.uk as a price comparison too for selling games.0 -

Yeah, you get the same price - the tills in the shop are connected to the same database that the website uses. With a bit of effort it's actually possible to make money by comparing prices on the website carefully - in the past I've bought pre-owned games from GameStation then walked 20 yards up the road and sold them at CEX for a profit!
The first time you sell them stuff you need to take some ID, but they'll set up a free account for you so any other time you want to sell things they'll just swipe your membership card.
EDIT: I should add ... be prepared for a bit of a wait. Sometimes you can get a long queue of people trading-in items and you may have to wait a bit to be served, especially if people are selling electrical equipment that needs testing.0
