I used this for the first time today after finding out about it on here. 20 CD's worked out at £11 but they were only gathering dust on the shelf and are all backed up onto itunes anyway. I figure people only want to pay about a quid for 3 cd's at car boot anyway so not a bad deal. :jWandered away from the MSE track for a while but am back and on a mission! Debts cleared nearly £18k. Now to start saving ...0

Sarah do you have a site?
Although mm has its issues, its an easy way of getting rid of cds etc, how much more money do you give and what do you do with your things that you buy?0 -
Was offered 37 pence on Magpie for a box set DVD that is £290 used on Amazon. However it definitely isn't the place to sell rare stuff.0

Music magpie sell the items they purchase on Play & Amazon under the name zoverstocks apparently. There might be other sites / places too but those are the ones I know aboutNot been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/1550

Got my first cheque yesterday. Got a load more ready to send off - just need to find a suitable box. Quite pleased really as although most prices seem to be between 30p and 60p, I have been offered £3 for one and got £2.70 for one in the first batch.0

Trying a two-pronged attack, as thanks to a successful credit card charges claim (hurrah!), I'm no longer in the urgent position I was to make enough to buy a new computer (this runs on chewing gum, swearing, mist and string).
Anything that is worth the effort is going on Amazon. Anything where the other used items on Amazon are within 50p of what MM are offering goes to MM for a quicker top up for the coffers. And I'm only sending five at a time. Things DO get lost in the post (and I'm more inclined to blame the PO of late, frankly), and I could afford to lose five without it being a disaster.
Happy selling, everyone.Stage one - declutter
Stage two - sell the clutter
Stage three - turn the money into more money
Stage four - pat self on back

Music Magpie are a cheeky bunch of gits. I sent off 88 assorted cds and dvds, the total I was promised was £100.30. I got the cheque through and it was £1.69 short. Now I know that this is only a few pence, however, considering that they were only paying me 30p for some of my cds, this amount could represent as much as 5 cds. So I called and left a message for them to get back to me, and they never did. I called again and was told that 2 dvds that I sent in were damaged beyond repair. The 2 dvds in question were ones that I had only watched once! How could this be the case? I was also told that since this was the case, they recycled them for free. Well, THANKS man, really appreciate your help with that. Why couldn’t they have sent them back? I was told to read the terms and conditions.
I will not be using this bunch of cowboys again.0 -
Dont suppose anybody knows a good hassle free way of selling classical music records (33 rpm vinyl). Have got about 200 to get rid of. Can't be bothered with the e-bay/postage & packing route.0
