Yup, no problem. Deep ones with drainage holes in the base to hold the compost, shallow ones as drip trays. And later on you can use them to harvest your own veg into.Val.0 -
Hi everyone, I was just wondering if I have to use risotto rice to make a risotto? I was going to use this recipe http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/1221/easy-risotto-with-bacon-and-peas
I have never made risotto before and don't know if I'll make it again so I don't really want to shell out on a whole box of risotto rice I might never use again. I have some long grain rice in the cupboard, could I use that?
Thanks to anyone who reads or answers.0 -

Hi,
Me with another question.
I have a huge turnip (swede to those of you south of the border!). Does it freeze well mashed ?
What about mashed potato and also cooked cabbage ?

Swede goes a bit watery in my experience, and cooked cabbage goes slimey. Mashed potato looks okay but tastes subtley different.
Raw swede freezes well though.
Edit: Yes, as above. Bubble and squeak patties freeze a treat.Val.0 -
