    It does indeed sound yummy.
I think I will make this even though I have actually got enough eggs now, as I decided to brave the snow in the dark, and walk down to local Coop whilst DH looked after DS. (I have not been getting to town as don't want to have to get car out in this unpredictable weather- it is snowing again here  and it is a faff to push DS through the snow).
On another note, on the freezing of cooked dried things, can I freeze my cooked marrowfat peas I am making today, as only need half ?
    Ta ra
I've successfully frozen kidney and berlotti beans.
  • Marrowfat peas freeze well.
May all your dots fall silently to the ground.
  • I bought two of these joints from Asda this morning reduced. I was considering how to use it... do you think I could chop it before freezing and use in slow cooker ok? Or would it be better cooked whole? Also has anyone successfully cooked one of these in a slow cooker?

    Thanks in advance.

  • I find it an incredible waste, and was thinking maybe there is something I could do with them? Any ideas?

    Thanks.

Chop them up, bag them into whatever weight portions you find useful and freeze away. Treat as slow-cook casserole or stewing type beef.

The polystyrene ones? I'm a keen gardener and use them as drip/watering trays under seedlings. I also use them as crocking material at the base of plant pots...washed, broken up into largish pieces and put a 1" layer in the bottom of the pot for drainage.

Or your local school nursery or playgroup often runs short of junk for model making etc. Just make sure everything is clean.

Can anyone help me? I bought all the ingredients yesterday to make the Sainsburys Pork Mince Chili recipe tonight. However I now can't find the card. Does anyone have it and can post it up here? Thanks.

  • Hi val no they are plastic. Some about 1 1/2 inchest thick, some up to 5 inches thick. I'm wondering if I could use them as seed trays if I poked holes in the bottom? I bought some seeds today to start myself off with veg and flowers?
